This announcement is part of AFP Action’s historic 50-state expansion effort

Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) announced today its endorsement of two candidates in key races for the U.S. House of Representatives.

AFP Action will support Alison Esposito (NY-18) and George Logan (CT-05) for the general election on November 5, 2024. This historic engagement is the first time AFP Action will engage in the states of Connecticut and New York.

This effort comes just one month after AFP Action marked its first major engagement in California. As part of its largest election effort to date, AFP Action will launch mail and digital ad campaigns, as well as its state-of-the-art grassroots efforts, in support of these candidates. AFP Action is committed to engaging Americans across the country to elect more policy champions than ever before.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Ross Connolly issued the following statement:

“We are thrilled to announce these endorsements of George Logan and Alison Esposito for the U.S. House of Representatives and ready to put the full weight of our grassroots capabilities behind these candidates and ensure they win come November.

“AFP Action understands the importance of this election cycle and remains committed to electing more policy champions than ever before. Americans deserve strong leaders who will fight to make our economy stronger, our border safer, and life better for Americans from Connecticut to California, and every state in between. We are excited to put our full endorsement behind these candidates and we are certain they will deliver on the solutions Americans need.”

George Logan (CT-05)

George Logan is a promised policy partner. As a former state assemblyman, he played a key role in efforts to cut taxes and simplify the tax code in Connecticut. He promises to cut federal spending and put an end to radical policies coming out of Washington. When elected, he will work hard to secure our southern border to protect Americans, and prioritize policies that strengthen our economy.

Alison Esposito (NY-18)

Alison Esposito is a former NYPD officer and is ready to work hard to keep Americans safe. She promises to champion economic reforms and advocate against overburdensome regulations to get our economy back on track. Esposito is a fresh voice and a proven leader that will work tirelessly to protect Americans, secure our borders, and stand up for policies that make the American dream attainable for all.

AFP Action Endorses Joe McGraw in IL-17

PEORIA, IL —Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Joe McGraw in his bid to challenge incumbent Democrat Eric Sorensen in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

AFP Action announced last year the organization would be engaging earlier and in more elections than ever before. Today’s endorsements put that promise into action.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Jason Heffley released the following statement:

“Rep. Eric Sorensen has failed to deliver for Illinois – it’s time to turn the page and usher in new leaders like Joe McGraw in Congress. Today, AFP Action is proud to endorse McGraw in his bid to represent Illinois’ 17th Congressional District.

“Illinois is facing some of the nation’s highest inflation and gas prices, and Eric Sorensen has failed to bring down the cost of living for his district. Sorensen has been a rubber stamp for the failed ‘Bidenomics’ policies of Joe Biden that are causing the soaring inflation facing Illinoisians. It’s time for new leadership in Washington that will deliver real results to hardworking Illinoisans.

“Throughout his twenty-year career as a judge, Joe McGraw has been a public servant of the people of Illinois. When elected, McGraw has vowed to be a strong voice against ‘Bidenomics’ and fight for economic prosperity and energy independence in Congress. Now more than ever, Illinois needs leaders who will fight back against the progressive agenda of Washington and drive down costs to make the American Dream more achievable.

“AFP Action intends to put the full weight of our grassroots capabilities behind McGraw’s candidacy to ensure he’s elected to the House of Representatives come November.”

BACKGROUND:

AFP Action invests extensively in mail, digital, and connected-television campaigns to lay the foundation for the one-on-one conversations by grassroots advocates that are often the difference-maker in any close race. In 2022, AFP and AFP Action engaged in 457 races, knocking on more than 7 million doors, delivering over 100 million pieces of mail, and reaching millions more voters through phone and email.

AFP Action Congratulates Ryan Mackenzie on Primary Victory

Lehigh, Pennsylvania—Americans for Prosperity Action congratulated State Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (LD-187) for winning the Republican nomination in Tuesday’s Pennsylvania Primary. He will go on to face Rep. Susan Wild in November’s general election.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Ashley Klingensmith issued the following statement after the race was called:

“Last year, we told Americans that we were going to be getting into more primaries, more often, because candidate quality matters. Ryan Mackenzie’s victory tonight ensures that voters in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District have a clear choice in November between maintaining the status quo or ushering in a new era of principled leadership in Washington.

“We look forward to continuing our support for Ryan Mackenzie into November. We already have spoken to 70,000 voters in the 7th District and we will continue this conversation every day between now and Election Day.”

AFP Action Throws Support to Brad Knott in NC Runoff

Raleigh, North Carolina—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP-Action) today announced its support for Brad Knott in the runoff election for North Carolina’s 13th congressional district.

The native North Carolinian earned AFP-Action’s support for a policy platform that promises to create more opportunity and economic mobility for the Tarheel State.

AFP-Action Senior Advisor Tyler Voigt issued the following statement after the announcement:

“North Carolinians need to send Brad Knott to Washington to reinforce our congressional delegation’s policy champions. Under President Biden, North Carolinians have suffered a drastic increase in cost of living, higher energy prices, and a sense that the American Dream is slipping away.

“North Carolina didn’t vote for the inflationary policies of ‘Bidenomics’, but they are paying the price. Brad Knott is committed to ending wasteful government spending, unleashing all American energy, and cutting the red tape that makes it harder to work and start businesses. A vote for Knott is a vote to say ‘bye bye’ to Bidenomics.”

AFP Action will be out knocking doors and making phone calls every day between now and the May 14th runoff to supplement its signature layered approach to candidate support.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Tyler Voigt gave the following statement after the race was called for Harrigan:

“AFP Action was proud to back Pat Harrigan and help bring him across the finish line. North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District has had fabulous representation with outgoing Representative Patrick McHenry. With Pat Harrigan on the ballot in November, North Carolinians will continue to have a representative who champions sound policy and bucks the status quo in Washington.

“I want to thank every member of our grassroots community who knocked doors and made phone calls to support Harrigan in this primary.”

AFP Action Endorses Rob Bresnahan’s Bid to Unseat Rep. Matt Cartwright

Scranton, Pennsylvania—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its support for Rob Bresnahan’s bid to represent Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District in Congress.

Owner of a local construction business, Bresnahan is prepared to advocate for policies that make it easier to start and grow businesses in the Keystone State, including cutting unnecessary red tape, keeping taxes low, unleashing domestic energy, and ending wasteful government spending that drives up inflation.

This is the fourth endorsement the grassroots super PAC has made in Pennsylvania for the 2024 election cycle. In 2023, AFP Action endorsed Pennsylvania State Reps. Ryan Mackenzie and Rob Mercuri for U.S. House and businessman Dave McCormick for U.S. Senate.

After announcing the latest endorsement, AFP Action Senior Advisor Ashley Klingensmith gave the following statement:

“For too long, Pennsylvanians have had lackluster representation in Congress. Instead of listening to constituents’ top priorities, Representatives like Matt Cartwright have advanced an agenda that grows government, grows the national debt, and grows onerous regulations that depress the economy. It’s time for new leadership in Congress and Rob Bresnahan will be part of a new generation of lawmakers in the Pennsylvania delegation that will turn the page on the status quo in Washington.”

Americans for Prosperity Action Backs Arizona Fiscal Champions for Congress

Representative David Schweikert and Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma Earn early support from Grassroots Super PAC

Phoenix, Arizona—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma (HD-27) and Representative David Schweikert (AZ-01) for U.S. House of Representatives.

The endorsements come as AFP Action prepares for a record-breaking 2024 election with the promise to engage earlier and more often—especially in primaries.

To that end, AFP Action endorsed Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma to run for Arizona’s eighth congressional district, which will be left open by Representative Debbie Lesko, who will retire at the end of the 118th Congress.

In Arizona’s first district, AFP Action backed incumbent Representative David Schweikert, a reliable fiscal conservative dedicated to getting the national debt under control and cutting government spending.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Stephen Shadegg gave the following statement after the announcement:

“Arizona taxpayers have had a great champion in Speaker Ben Toma. He has truly looked out for them and proven that he is an outstanding steward of taxpayer funds and a skilled negotiator as well as a tireless fighter. Thanks to him, Arizona passed the lowest flat tax in the country. In addition to scoring this win for taxpayers, Toma also shepherded legislation that created Arizona’s universal education savings accounts through the legislature. It’s time for Arizonans to promote him.

“Over ten years of serving Arizona’s first congressional district, Rep. David Schweikert has proven that he is a stalwart champion on issues related to cutting spending, keeping taxes low, and sounding the alarm about the national security threat that is our National Debt. Arizonans need him to stay where he is and continue fighting to keep Washington accountable to taxpayers.

“AFP Action is proud to endorse these candidates and ensure that they make it to Washington. Through our unrivalled network of grassroots activists, we will be pounding the pavement, dialing the phones, and spreading the word about both Rep. Schwikert and Speaker Toma.”

AFP Action Endorses Pat Harrigan Bid for Congress

Raleigh, North Carolina—Americans for Prosperity Action today endorsed Pat Harrigan’s bid to represent North Carolina’s tenth congressional district.

The former Green Beret and local businessman earned AFP Action’s endorsement for his thoughtful approach to our nation’s fiscal and budgetary policies, commitment to lowering taxes, cutting red tape, and his genuine interest in addressing the substandard care given to veterans who have served our country.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Tyler Voigt gave the following statement after announcing the grassroots super PAC’s endorsement of Harrigan:

“Representative McHenry is leaving big shoes to fill with his retirement. Fortunately, Pat Harrigan is ready and willing to take on the job of representing the people of North Carolina’s 10th congressional district. As a veteran and a self-made businessman, he has the right perspective to take on Washington’s problems. He knows that heavy-handed government has made it harder to start and grow businesses, made life more expensive, and completely neglected veterans who deserve the care they were promised.

“AFP Action’s activists are ready to send a candidate committed to advancing principled policies to Washington so that Congress can get to work solving problems for the American people.”
