Dave McCormick Won’t Raise Taxes on Pennsylvanians

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – After Dave McCormick handily defeated Bob Casey Jr. in the second Pennsylvania Senate Debate, AFP Action Senior Advisor Emily Greene released the following statement:

“Tonight, Dave McCormick showed Pennsylvanians that he has our back. He knows and understands the issues that we are most concerned about: making life more affordable, restoring order to our border, and keeping taxes low.

“Bob Casey has had nearly 20 years to stand up for Pennsylvania, and at every opportunity, he instead votes for his party and his politically connected allies.

“AFP Action has knocked over 800,000 doors and counting to be sure that Dave McCormick replaces Bob Casey and starts giving Pennsylvanians a real voice in the U.S. Senate.”

Blame Game Bob Won’t Own His Voting Record on Inflation

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – In tonight’s debate, Bob Casey Jr. continued to blame job creators for rising consumer costs.

However, a closer look at Casey’s voting record shows that he was the tie-breaking vote for the Biden-Harris Administration’s inflationary spending policies.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Emily Greene issued the following statement:

“Bob Casey voted for the so-called Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the American Rescue Plan, and the CHIPS Act. When he voted for trillions in spending, he voted to overheat the economy. Inflation is simply the invisible tax all Americans have been paying on the Biden-Harris economic agenda.

“The least he could do is admit he voted for it, instead of blaming businesses. Fortunately, Dave McCormick understands the need for fiscal responsibility and he will vote to keep the federal government living within its means. That’s why AFP Action is knocking doors every day between now and November 5: because we can’t afford another six years of Casey voting for wasteful government spending and then expecting Pennsylvanians to foot the bill.

AFP Action FL: Simon Bests Parks in Debate

Tallahassee, FL – After today’s debate between State Senator Corey Simon and Daryl Parks to represent District 3, Americans for Prosperity Action Florida (AFPA-FL) is highlighting the following key takeaways:

  • Daryl Parks does not have a real plan in place to deal with Florida’s necessary insurance reforms while Senator Simon has proven a pathway for Floridians by voting for key improvements to our marketplace.
  • Senator Simon has stood side-by-side with North Florida as we repair and recover from multiple storms and will continue to provide information on resources for those in need.
  • Senator Simon is working to keep Florida’s economy on track while Parks wants to raise taxes on families that are already hurting due to inflation.
  • While Daryl Parks is focused on partisan politics and dividing us, Senator Simon has worked across the aisle with Democrats and fellow Republicans to pass a balanced state budget that provides tax relief for all Floridians.

AFPA-FL Senior Advisor, Skylar Zander, released the following statement:

“Today, Senator Simon demonstrated his proven record of representing the needs of Tallahassee in the Legislature. He is a stronger choice with a clear vision for Florida unlike Daryl Parks who does not offer serious solutions to our greatest challenges. Senator Simon has the experience needed to continue to reform our insurance market, keep our economy growing, and usher in restoration after a difficult storm season. We need Senator Simon in office to continue defending North Florida values and we celebrate his debate victory today.”

FIVE KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM FINAL MICHIGAN SENATE DEBATE:

Detroit, Michigan—Last night, Mike Rogers once again defeated Elissa Slotkin on the debate stage.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Tim Golding issued the following statement on last night’s debate.

“Here are five key takeaways for Michigan voters:

  1. Mike Rogers is not a rubber stamp. He’s ready and willing to push back against the worst instincts of progressive Democrats and he will fight for Michigan families and businesses.
  • Elissa Slotkin can claim that she’s a “fiscal conservative” but her voting record tells a very different story.
  • Unlike Elissa Slotkin, Mike Rogers will vote to secure the border and reduce the importation of fentanyl into our country. Despite having every opportunity, Slotkin voted against border security measures that would end the chaos at our southern border.
  • Even when it comes to issues fundamental to Michigan’s economy, Slotkin votes with her party, not her people. She voted against fellow Michigander John James’ bill to roll back the Biden-Harris Administration’s electric vehicle mandate, even though a ban on gas-powered cars will be catastrophic for Michigan automakers.
  • Elissa Slotkin is trying to mislead voters with moderate statements and positions, even though she votes with the Biden-Harris Administration 100% of the time.”
