AFP Action KS: Schmidt Demonstrates Why He’s the Best Choice for District 2 During Washburn Forum

Topeka, KS – After tonight’s forum at Washburn University, Americans for Prosperity Action Kansas (AFPA-KS) is highlighting three key takeaways that demonstrate why Derek Schmidt is the best candidate for Congressional House District 02:

  • Schmidt will be strong on immigration and work to promote solutions that address the crisis at the southern border and restore confidence in our nation’s immigration system.
  • Inflation has cost Kansans $1,083 more a month since January 2021. In office, Schmidt can help address the cost-of-living crisis by supporting continued tax reform by extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
  • As the former Attorney General, Schmidt has fought in Washington before and won for Kansas; he is best positioned to do that again.

AFPA-KS Senior Advisor, Liz Patton, released the following statement:

“Kansas voters are enthusiastic to get to the polls and send Derek Schmidt to Washington. Tonight, his opponents showed they are more focused on political attacks rather than solving the biggest issues facing our state and nation. In office, we look forward to Derek ushering in economic growth to help Kansas thrive and bring the cost-of-living down for hardworking families while also tackling immigration. Derek is the fighter that we need in D.C. representing Kansas values and AFPA believes tonight he proved that to voters in the district.”

Since endorsing Schmidt for KS-02, AFPA-KS has utilized its grassroots base as well as digital campaigns and mail to educate voters on his record. Click here to read more.

Hovde Bests Baldwin in Madison Debate

Madison, WI – After the debate between Tammy Baldwin and Eric Hovde, AFP Action Senior Advisor Megan Novak released the following statement:

“AFP Action has knocked over 600,000 doors this cycle listening to what voters care about most: and that is by far the economy. Wisconsinites are still struggling to get by and paying over $11,500 more per year just to afford the same standard of living since 2021, yet the moderators asked zero questions about this cost of living crisis.

“Tonight, Eric Hovde proved why he is the best choice to represent Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.  As a businessman, Hovde is a job creator with the visions and skills necessary to strengthen our economy and fight for Wisconsinites.

“After 25 years in Washington – if Tammy Baldwin was going to make a difference, she would have done so by now. It’s time to turn the page on Tammy Baldwin and Eric Hovde is the man for the job.”

AFP Action is highlighting five main points voters should know after tonight’s debate, despite the moderators ignoring questions about the issues Wisconsinites care about the most:

  • Tammy Baldwin is a career politician who’s spent 25 years in Washington, D.C. and has nothing to show for it.
  • Baldwin voted for the American Rescue Plan, the CHIPS Act, the Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act and the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, amounting to a $5.5 trillion spending frenzy and leading to historically high inflation and sluggish wage growth.
  • Senator Baldwin has failed to secure the southern border and Wisconsin. Eric Hovde will fight for increased technology, boots on the ground and infrastructure.
  • In the debate, Baldwin tried to paint herself bipartisan, but she has voted with the radical Biden-Harris administration over 95% of the time.
  • Eric Hovde will be a man of action and work on day one to get Wisconsin and our country’s economy back on track.

FACT CHECK: Baldwin’s False Claims on Fentanyl Crisis

Madison, WI – Tammy Baldwin falsely claimed credit for her work on the FEND Act, a bill to combat the fentanyl crisis destroying our communities and killing Wisconsinites.

When in fact, Senator Tim Scott (SC), the main sponsor of the bill, has called out Baldwin for her blatant lies and stated he “never had a single conversation with Sen. Baldwin about [the FEND Act]. Period.”

AFP Action Senior Advisor Megan Novak released the following statement:

“The fact of the matter is this: Tammy and her fellow democrats could have prevented this fentanyl crisis by securing our southern border but failed. While fentanyl is killing thousands of Wisconsinites every year, Tammy Baldwin’s done nothing but take false credit for something she didn’t do, the epitome of her time in Washington.

“America needs a real leader who knows that securing the border is the first step to securing our communities. America needs Eric Hovde in the U.S. Senate.”

Brown Proves Facts Matter and Defeats Rosen in Debate

LAS VEGAS, NV – Sam Brown convincingly demonstrated the policy differences between himself and Jacky Rosen tonight in a clear debate victory. After the debate, AFP Action is highlighting key takeaways:

  • Senator Rosen has failed to secure the southern border and Nevada. Sam Brown will fight for increased technology, boots on the ground and infrastructure along the southern border.
  • Rosen backed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which did not lower inflation. Instead, the IRA has resulted in U.S. gas prices increasing by nearly 62%, natural gas prices spiking by more than 40 percent, and included a $250-billion-dollar Department of Energy Loan Guarantee Program to fund liberal pet projects.
  • In the debate, Rosen desperately tried to distance herself from the economic failures of the Biden-Harris administration, but she has voted with the president 93% of the time.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Ronnie Najarro released the following statement:

“Tonight, Nevadans heard from two candidates with very different visions for Nevada’s future.  Jacky Rosen was for all the big government spending that caused the inflation that has harmed Nevada’s economy.  Sam Brown is for common sense: making life more affordable, restoring order to our border, and keeping taxes low.”
