Early Engagement in Key U.S. Senate Races Sets the Stage for Lasting Policy Gains in 2026 and Beyond 

ARLINGTON, VA – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is today making its first U.S. Senate endorsements of the 2026 mid-term cycle, an election year that has the potential to reshape Washington’s policy landscape for the next decade.  

With the endorsements of Michael Whatley  for U.S. Senate in North Carolina and Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate in Michigan, AFP Action is signaling an early and aggressive commitment to defending and building strong limited-government policy coalitions in Congress. 

AFP Action Director Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“Candidates Michael Whatley and Mike Rogers have demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding freedom and opportunity through policies that limit government and empower people. We need more U.S. Senators with that same outlook to keep our country headed in the right direction, as well as provide an essential check on far-left progressive policies that are becoming more extreme by the day.

In 2024, AFP and AFP Action engaged in a record-breaking 647 races, knocking on 20 million doors, and reaching 30 million voters. This cycle is expected to significantly exceed those 2024 metrics across the board. Over the past year, AFP’s grassroots army has already been out connecting with Americans in key states like Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Ohio, talking to voters about their top concerns and their views on important issues like the economy, tax policy, border security, regulatory reform, health care, energy and more. AFP Action Congratulates Successful Candidates in Arizona State Legislative Races

Phoenix, Arizona—After the Arizona Secretary of State certified Arizona’s election results, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) congratulated its victorious candidates on successful runs for the state legislature. 

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen, as well as incumbent State Senators J.D. Mesnard (LD-13), T.J. Shope (LD-16), Tim Dunn (LD-25), and Frank Carroll (LD-28) won reelection. Carine Werner also won her race and will represent Arizona’s 4th senate district. 

State Representatives Matt Gress (LD-04), Teresa Martinez (LD-16), Michele Peña (LD-23) also won reelection. Non-incumbents Jeff Weninger, Chris Lopez won their races and will go on to represent the 13th and 16th legislative districts, respectively. 

AFP Action Senior Advisor Stephen Shadegg issued the following statement after the races were called: 

“Arizona has made significant progress in recent years when it comes to making the Copper State more attractive to entrepreneurs and families. With these policy champions, Arizona is sure to continue on its upward trajectory.”

AFP Action Congratulates Nick Begich (AK-AL) on Election to Congress

ANCHORAGE, AK – AFP Action congratulates Nick Begich on his election to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Alaska. AFP-Action endorsed Begich in September and canvassed the state through election day.  

Nick Begich is the leader who will stand up for Alaskans in Congress, fight to bring down the cost of living, and champion Alaska’s energy industry. AFP Action grassroots staff and volunteers have been laser-focused on this race and have knocked on nearly 45,000 doors in support of Begich.

Chris Balkema (SD-53), State Rep. Amy Grant (HD-47), State Rep. Martin McLaughlin (HD-52),  State Rep. Jackie Haas (HD-79), State Rep. Nicole La Ha (HD-82), Regan Deering (HD-88),  State Rep. Brandun Schweizer (HD-104), State Rep. Amy Elik (HD-111) and State Rep. Kevin Schmidt (HD-114) each garnered the endorsement of AFP Action for their leadership and desire to tackle the high inflation and property taxes facing Illinoisans.
