AFP Action on Control of the U.S. Senate: “2025 Starts Now.”

ARLINGTON, VA – As media reports now confirm majority control of the U.S. Senate will flip to the Republican Party, Americans for Prosperity President and CEO and AFP Action Senior Advisor Emily Seidel issued the following statement:

“2025 starts now. In a year in which policy decisions in Washington, D.C. could define a generation, we are glad that Americans will have the right voices in the U.S. Senate to provide the vision and leadership the country requires. We said from the beginning that this will be the most unpredictable election cycle in recent memory and prioritizing the U.S. Senate gave us our best opportunity to elect candidates who can prevent the very worst policy threats and offer a better alternative. That’s why we backed strong candidates who had the principles and backbone to win, to lead, and to solve the greatest challenges facing our country.

“This is Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and AFP Action’s largest effort in our 20-year history. Our grassroots teams have been talking with voters for the past two years and have made more than 19.5 million total voter contacts. But our work is just beginning. While the election marks the end of operations for other groups, our sister organization AFP will continue to make their voices heard, helping to pass the public policy these candidates were elected to achieve. For those policymakers committed to championing policy solutions, they will have no stronger, more committed, or more effective ally than AFP. For those who forget that the American people expect principled public policy that helps improve their lives, AFP will be here to remind them.

“While majorities matter, they are never enough. We need to demonstrate every day why policies grounded in the core American principles of freedom and empowerment do far more to spread prosperity than top-down government control, no matter which party advocates it. The American people deserve policies that help improve their lives and AFP will never waver in our defense of core limited government principles and the freedom and opportunity that comes with them.”

“Finally, we congratulate President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance on their victory. Their administration will face serious and daunting challenges, but there will be opportunity to advance policy solutions to address them. Americans continue to struggle to afford gas and groceries, the country’s finances are unsustainable, and a significant majority of Americans believe our country is headed in the wrong direction. Just as we have always done, AFP stands ready to work towards solutions on these important problems. Americans made their voices heard; now is the time to deliver on the promise of a better future. The stakes could not be higher, and failure is not an option.”

Duarte Delivers Win in Second Debate

Sacramento, CA – After last night’s debate between Congressman John Duarte and Adam Gray concluded, AFP Action Senior Advisor Heather Andrews released the following statement

“In last night’s debate, Congressman Duarte highlighted his dedication to cutting red tape to lower the cost of housing and making life more affordable for Californians. His proven track record in Congress, combined with his background as a local farmer and businessman, gives him the right mindset, experience, and work ethic to continue serving CA-13 in our nation’s capital.

“AFP Action remains committed to mobilizing voters and helping secure a victory for Duarte on November 5th.”

Duarte Delivers in CA-13 Debate

San Joaquin Valley, CA – After the “Debate of the State” between Congressman John Duarte and Adam Gray concluded Friday evening, AFP Action Senior Advisor Heather Andrews released the following statement

“Tonight, John Duarte shared a clear vision for a more prosperous California. As a businessman and farmer, Duarte has the experience to get our economy back on track and bring Central Valley values to the nation’s capital.

“Duarte is a proven leader who is not afraid to stand up to Washington’s status quo when it comes to representing his community. During his time in Washington, he’s worked to bring down the cost of housing, gas, and groceries, and fought against the Biden-Harris administration’s radical spending responsible for making life more expensive. Congressman Duarte has a proven track record of tackling tough issues and taking common sense positions Californians can get behind.

“AFP Action is excited to support Congressman Duarte in his race to reelection and will continue working to get him across the finish line on November 5th.”

Hovde Bests Baldwin in Madison Debate

Madison, WI – After the debate between Tammy Baldwin and Eric Hovde, AFP Action Senior Advisor Megan Novak released the following statement:

“AFP Action has knocked over 600,000 doors this cycle listening to what voters care about most: and that is by far the economy. Wisconsinites are still struggling to get by and paying over $11,500 more per year just to afford the same standard of living since 2021, yet the moderators asked zero questions about this cost of living crisis.

“Tonight, Eric Hovde proved why he is the best choice to represent Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.  As a businessman, Hovde is a job creator with the visions and skills necessary to strengthen our economy and fight for Wisconsinites.

“After 25 years in Washington – if Tammy Baldwin was going to make a difference, she would have done so by now. It’s time to turn the page on Tammy Baldwin and Eric Hovde is the man for the job.”

AFP Action is highlighting five main points voters should know after tonight’s debate, despite the moderators ignoring questions about the issues Wisconsinites care about the most:

  • Tammy Baldwin is a career politician who’s spent 25 years in Washington, D.C. and has nothing to show for it.
  • Baldwin voted for the American Rescue Plan, the CHIPS Act, the Infrastructure, Investment, and Jobs Act and the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, amounting to a $5.5 trillion spending frenzy and leading to historically high inflation and sluggish wage growth.
  • Senator Baldwin has failed to secure the southern border and Wisconsin. Eric Hovde will fight for increased technology, boots on the ground and infrastructure.
  • In the debate, Baldwin tried to paint herself bipartisan, but she has voted with the radical Biden-Harris administration over 95% of the time.
  • Eric Hovde will be a man of action and work on day one to get Wisconsin and our country’s economy back on track.

FACT CHECK: Baldwin’s False Claims on Fentanyl Crisis

Madison, WI – Tammy Baldwin falsely claimed credit for her work on the FEND Act, a bill to combat the fentanyl crisis destroying our communities and killing Wisconsinites.

When in fact, Senator Tim Scott (SC), the main sponsor of the bill, has called out Baldwin for her blatant lies and stated he “never had a single conversation with Sen. Baldwin about [the FEND Act]. Period.”

AFP Action Senior Advisor Megan Novak released the following statement:

“The fact of the matter is this: Tammy and her fellow democrats could have prevented this fentanyl crisis by securing our southern border but failed. While fentanyl is killing thousands of Wisconsinites every year, Tammy Baldwin’s done nothing but take false credit for something she didn’t do, the epitome of her time in Washington.

“America needs a real leader who knows that securing the border is the first step to securing our communities. America needs Eric Hovde in the U.S. Senate.”
