ARLINGTON, VA—Americans for Prosperity Action announced its endorsement of Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’s re-election to Washington’s 5th Congressional District. AFP Action is throwing its full support behind Rep. McMorris Rodgers thanks to the positive policy leadership she’s exhibited during her time in Washington, D.C. The organization will utilize a wide range of tactics to support Rep. McMorris Rodgers’s re-election.
In a memo to interested parties, AFP Action Senior Advisor Tim Phillips issued the following:
“ Since Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers was first elected to represent Washington’s 5th Congressional district, she has been a tireless advocate for policies that remove barriers that stand in the way of Eastern Washington’s prosperity… On issue after issue, she won praise for maintaining civility at a time of hyper partisanship, and for working to build diverse coalitions on a range of issues while standing fast on principle. She is exactly the kind of lawmaker we need more of in Washington, D.C., and voters in Eastern Washington should send her back again.”
Americans for Prosperity Action also announced plans for historic political engagement at the federal and state levels in 2020, evaluating two to three times as many races as 2018. As part of this announcement, AFP Action released a new wave of endorsements for four members of the U.S. House of Representatives, each identified as a policy champion thanks to their legislative leadership in breaking barriers to opportunity and improving the lives of all Americans. Endorsed lawmakers include: Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13), Rep. Steve Chabot (OH-01), Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10), and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05).
