As Democratic Socialists “Rally” in Detroit, AFP Action and Mike Rogers Bring Common-Sense Solutions to Macomb County

MACOMB, MI — While Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Abdul El-Sayed want Michiganders to believe more government control is the answer to their problems, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is on doorsteps in Macomb County with a different answer: Mike Rogers’ vision for a Michigan with lower energy bills and more jobs in the auto industry, built by Michiganders instead of dictated by Washington.

Tim Golding, senior advisor to AFP Action Michigan, released the following statement:

“While national progressive figures fly into Detroit to sell Michiganders on the same failed socialist ideas that have hollowed out cities and driven up costs across the country, we’re on the ground in Macomb County – talking with real voters about what actually works.

“Mike Rogers understands that Michigan families need lower energy bills, good-paying jobs in the auto and defense industries, and skilled trades training for their kids. And that doesn’t come from bigger government.

“Give more power and control to Washington, or lower energy costs and bring manufacturing jobs back to Michigan? That’s the choice in front of Michigan voters. We’re confident they’ll choose jobs and lower bills over more government control.”

Today’s AFP Action and LIBRE Action canvassing event in Macomb is part of a broader door-to-door effort across Michigan. Volunteers are talking with voters about energy costs, manufacturing jobs, the price of groceries and gas, and the solutions Mike Rogers is offering to fix them.

AFP Action: Pappas Puts Washington Over Granite Staters

Concord, NH – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) released a new wave of ads calling out Chris Pappas’ record of putting Washington over New Hampshire and highlighting John Sununu’s independence that Granite Staters can count on to put their interests first.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Sarah Scott said the following:

Chris Pappas has a record of voting with Progressive Democrats, rubber stamping their party’s agenda that has raised costs for Granite State families and businesses, including voting for the largest tax increase in American history. His actions go against the very principles and values New Hampshire believes in.

“When we knock on doors, we hear time and time again: Granite Staters don’t want Washington politicians who put their party over commonsense solutions that lower costs. AFP Action knows Sununu will put the Granite State first and will deliver on driving down costs by removing burdensome regulations, cutting taxes, and reigning in wasteful spending.”

AFP Action Releases Statement Ahead of Michigan Democrat Senate Debate

Lansing, MI — Ahead of tonight’s Michigan Democrat Senate debate, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) Senior Advisor for Michigan Tim Golding released the following statement:

“Tonight’s debate will offer Michigan voters a clear window into how Democrats think about the problems facing this state: more Washington, more government control, and more of the same policies that drove up costs in the first place. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed may disagree on tactics, but they share the same fundamental belief — that the answer to Washington’s failures is more Washington.

“Michigan families know better: the cost of living didn’t spike because government wasn’t involved enough in their lives. It spiked because of runaway spending, burdensome regulations, and energy policies that made everything more expensive.

“Mike Rogers is running on a different vision for Michigan, one built on lower taxes, less spending, unleashing American energy, and cutting regulations that strangle small businesses. That’s how you put money back in people’s pockets and create the kind of economic opportunity this state has been waiting for.”

“Tonight, voters will watch two candidates argue over how much bigger to make government. Rogers is focused on getting Washington out of the way and letting Michigan thrive.”

AFP Action Endorses Dan Sullivan for U.S. Senate, Launches Ad Buy

ANCHORAGE, AK – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its endorsement of Dan Sullivan in his campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate to continue his work fighting for Alaskans. AFP Action’s engagement in the race is kicking off with a strong six-figure statewide ad buy.

AFP Action Executive Director Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“AFP Action is proud to endorse Senator Dan Sullivan’s re-election campaign, and we intend to put the full force of our grassroots army behind his candidacy.

“At a time when families across the state are feeling the pressure of the cost-of-living crisis, Sullivan has a track record of fighting for Alaska’s economy by advocating for policies that will bring energy innovation and production back to Alaska. In the Senate, Sullivan has cosponsored legislation to reduce burdensome EPA regulations, reduce restrictions on drilling, and streamline the permitting process.

“Alaska has the highest rate of veterans per capita in the U.S.; as a Marine Corps veteran who serves on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Sen. Sullivan deeply understands the issues facing Alaska’s veterans and the sacrifices they made for our country. Sullivan has dedicated his career to serving the Last Frontier – and AFP Action is dedicated to ensuring Sullivan can continue his work in Washington, D.C.”
