Americans for Prosperity Action Announces Second Wave of Texas State Legislative Endorsements
AUSTIN, TX—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its endorsement of three state legislators running for re-election this November. These candidates earned the endorsement of AFP Action through their leadership in Austin and support for principled policy solutions that seek to tackle the greatest challenges Texans face.
AFP Action Senior Advisor Jerome Greener issued the following statement:
“We are excited to endorse State Rep. Angie Chen Button, State Senator Brian Birdwell, and State Senator Jane Nelson in their re-election bids. By fighting for families to keep more of what they earn, supporting policies that will make it easier for businesses to recover, and tackling many more of the issues that matter most to Texans, these lawmakers have earned our full support through their principled leadership.”
AFP Action is proud to endorse the following policy champions:
State Representative Angie Chen Button (HD-112): State Rep. Angie Chen Button has been a critical leader in the effort to ensure Texans keep more of what they earn. Through building broad-based coalitions –regardless of political party— Rep. Button helped pass meaningful tax reform that alleviated some of the financial burdens hardworking Texans face. During her time in Austin, Rep. Button has also supported efforts to reduce red tape that will make it easier for small businesses to recover and improved access to quality, affordable health care.
State Senator Brian Birdwell (SD-22): State Sen. Brian Birdwell has shown immense leadership in ensuring all Texas students have access to the educational environment that works best for their unique needs, allowing hardworking Texans to keep more of what they earn, and ensuring small businesses are able to recover and rebuild even stronger. Through his efforts in Austin, more Texans are able to achieve their American dreams.
State Senator Jane Nelson (SD-12): Through her leadership and dedication to working with anyone to do good, State Senator Jane Nelson has played an instrumental role in promoting opportunity for all Texans. Through her leadership as Finance Chair, the legislature has worked to pass fiscally responsible budgets that prioritize spending, lowered the tax burden on hardworking Texans, and ensured that all businesses do not face burdens that make it harder to recover.
