Grand Rapids, Michigan – In tonight’s debate, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin attempted to salvage her economic record after voting for legislation that triggered the cost-of-living crisis that’s squeezing hard-working Michiganders and ballooned the national debt.

Despite previous claims that she’s a “fiscal conservative” and believes in “treating our federal budget like we treat our home budget” Slotkin voted for the inflationary “Inflation Reduction Act” (IRA). Contrary to its name, the IRA kicked inflation into overdrive. The IRA  resulted in U.S. gas prices increasing by nearly 62%, natural gas prices spiking by more than 40 percent, and included a $250-billion-dollar Department of Energy Loan Guarantee Program to fund liberal pet projects. Studies show that far from reducing inflation, the IRA and other signature pieces of the Biden-Harris economic agenda overheated the economy and led to the crushing cost increase in household goods.

“Elissa Slotkin voted for inflation when she voted for the Inflation Reduction Act and other planks of the Biden-Harris economic agenda. 1. Polling shows that Americans agree that now is not the time to raise taxes. Dave McCormick has promised to renew the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Bob Casey Jr. voted against it.
2. Dave McCormick is a new leader with a fresh perspective and appreciation for Pennsylvania voters. Bob Casey has been in office for nearly 20 years and rubber-stamped the Biden-Harris economic agenda; he votes with them 98% of the time.
3. Dave McCormick is a job creator and understands the policies that help grow the economy and expand economic opportunity. Bob Casey voted for inflation and then blamed job creators for increased consumer prices because he won’t own his own record.
4. Dave McCormick is serious about border security. Bob Casey Jr. voted against securing the border even though over 18,000 Pennsylvanians have fallen victim to the fentanyl crisis that’s perpetuated by the open border policies supported by Casey and the Biden-Harris Administration.
5. Pennsylvania’s energy sector is ready and willing to power the nation. Only one candidate has credibility when it comes to embracing an all-of-the-above approach, and that’s Dave McCormick. On the other hand, Bob Casey has voted to increase red tape on energy production and won’t be the energy champion that Pennsylvania needs.”
