AFP Action Endorses 13 Candidates for the Arizona Legislature

PHOENIX, AZ — Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed thirteen candidates for the Arizona Legislature and announced plans to launch a statewide grassroots campaign in support of the slate through November 3. The endorsements span five state Senate races and eight state House races, including a handful of seats that will decide which party holds each chamber next session.

Arizona households are absorbing higher costs for housing, utilities, and groceries. The endorsed candidates have committed to the reforms that reach those costs directly: clearing the permitting and zoning barriers that keep new homes off the market, restraining state spending, keeping the flat income tax intact, and cutting occupational licensing rules that price Arizonans out of work. Each also has a record of defending the education options Arizona families rely on.

Stephen Shadegg, Senior Advisor to AFP Action, issued the following statement:

“Arizona families are paying more for groceries, housing, and electricity than they were two years ago, and the Legislature is where that problem gets addressed or ignored. The thirteen candidates we are endorsing today have shown us they will hold the line on spending, keep Arizona’s tax code among the most competitive in the country, and protect the school choice programs that tens of thousands of families now depend on.

“Control of both chambers runs through a small number of districts, and our activists are going to be in those neighborhoods every week until November. Voters in these races deserve to hear directly from the people who live next door to them about what is at stake.”

Rep. Hilary Holley (HD-51)

AFP Action supported Holley in a March special election and is endorsing her again heading into November’s general election. As the executive director of Florida FFA (formerly the Future Farmers of America), Holley is experienced on agricultural policy, and she has carried that focus into the legislature through support for agricultural deregulation, insurance reform, and tax cuts.

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) Senior Advisor Skylar Zander issued a statement following Byron Donalds’ selection of former Florida Senator Bryan Ávila as his running mate.

AFP Action senior adviser for Florida, Skylar Zander, said:

Former Florida Senator Bryan Ávila is a strong pick, with a record of fighting for fiscal responsibility and free-market solutions in Tallahassee, backed by real service to our country in the Florida Army National Guard. His family’s story of fleeing communism and building a life in Hialeah reflects exactly why we fight for freedom and opportunity every day. This ticket will keep Florida focused on what matters: protecting our tort reform laws, stabilizing the insurance market, expanding school choice, and holding government accountable. We’re confident Donalds and Ávila will deliver for Florida families.

Florida Republicans saw a leader with a proven record and rewarded him with a decisive primary win tonight. AFP Action is thrilled to congratulate Congressman Donalds, along with our full slate of state legislature candidates who also won their primaries tonight. John Vick, senior advisor for Concerned Veterans for America Action, said:

“Congressman Donalds’ victory reflects the confidence Florida voters have placed in his vision for the state, and we congratulate him on this win. Veterans know that leadership is proven through service, accountability, and the willingness to take on tough challenges. Donalds has consistently demonstrated those values, and he recognizes the unique strengths veterans bring to their communities. We are confident he will champion policies that improve Florida’s affordable housing crisis for veterans and working families, advance educational freedom to expand training and credentialing opportunities that help veterans translate their service into meaningful careers, and strengthen fiscal oversight to ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly and effectively for all Floridians. Concerned Veterans for America Action was proud to stand with him in this race, and we look forward to his continued leadership as Florida moves toward the general election in November.”

In Advance of Florida Primary, AFP Action Announces Six Additional State Legislature Endorsements

Tallahassee, FL – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) announced its endorsement of Sen. Jay Trumbull (SD-02), Senate Majority Leader Jim Boyd (SD-20), Ana Maria Rodriguez (SD-40), Brian Hawkins (HD-53), Rep. Bill Conerly (HD-72), and Rep. Mike Redondo (HD-118) in advance of Florida’s August 18th primary election.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Skylar Zander released the following statement:

“Florida families deserve legislators who will fight to cut red tape, lower healthcare costs, and make it easier to build and afford a home. These six candidates have already proven themselves as leaders on those priorities, championing regulatory and insurance reform, energy policy, and health care access. We’re proud to add them to our slate of endorsed candidates, and we look forward to supporting them as they head into the August 18th primary.”

Background

Sen. Jay Trumbull (SD-02)

AFP Action has previously endorsed Jay Trumbull for his work on regulatory and healthcare reform. He has also consistently supported housing and medical licensure reforms.

Senate Majority Leader Jim Boyd (SD-20)

Senate Majority Leader Jim Boyd, who is the incoming Florida Senate president, has been a leader in the deregulatory and healthcare spaces. He played a leading role in Florida’s 2023 insurance reform effort, working to push back against the trial bar to reduce costs for Floridians. He has also backed housing reform and reforms to telehealth.

Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez (SD-40)

AFP Action has also previously endorsed Rodriguez for her work on energy and health care policy. As chair of the Environmental Preservation and Conservation Committee, Rodriguez has championed measures restricting local governments from banning certain energy sources and building materials. Additionally, she led multiple health care bills, including legislation last session to expand practice authority for health care professionals and to enact Right to Try in Florida.

Brian Hawkins (HD-53)

Brian Hawkins is a Navy veteran and a small business owner who recently served as a Hernando County Commissioner. In the Florida House of Representatives, he would likely be a strong voice on economic and regulatory reform. As commissioner, he helped deliver Florida’s largest property tax reduction by adopting a strict rollback rate minus 3%, forcing government to live within its means. He also reduced county debt while protecting critical emergency reserves through responsible budgeting. As a small business owner, he understands the burden of excessive regulation and supports requiring agencies to eliminate outdate or unnecessary rules before imposing new ones. Hawkins is likely to be a leader on efforts to deregulate Florida.

Rep. Bill Conerly (HD-72)

Rep. Conerly is a first-time legislator who has already proven himself as a leader on energy and regulatory reform policy. He has helped lead efforts to create a framework for advanced nuclear development in Florida. Conerly also has a strong command of housing policy, as evidenced by his support of legislation to streamline starter home development.

Rep. Mike Redondo (HD-118)

Rep. Redondo has championed healthcare and housing reform, working to eliminate certificate of need in Florida, filing numerous scope of practice reforms, and supporting efforts to expedite permitting and improve housing affordability in Florida.

AFP Action Endorses Robyn Hattaway and Rep. Brian Hodgers

Tallahassee, FL – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) endorsed Robyn Hattaway (HD-31) and Rep. Brian Hodgers (HD-32) for election to the Florida House of Representatives. Statewide primary elections will be held on August 18, 2026.

AFP Action Senior Advisor for Florida Skylar Zander released the following statement:

“Electing strong leaders to the Florida House of Representatives is essential. Both Hattaway and Hodgers will put our policies into action, championing school choice and workforce education, housing and insurance reform, and more. We look forward to mobilizing our grassroots network to back them.”

Background

Robyn Hattaway (HD-31)

Hattaway, as a former port commissioner, would likely bring her budget oversight experience to the Florida House of Representatives. As shown by her creation of the Junior Port Ambassador Program, which introduces high school students to college and trade pathways, Hattaway would also be a vocal proponent of workforce education.

Rep. Brian Hodgers (HD-32)

As a freshman legislator, Rep. Hodgers has already proven himself as a strong advocate on regulatory and education issues. As a real estate broker and insurance agent, Hodgers brings relevant experience on housing and insurance reform discussions. He also is a school choice advocate and supporter of parents’ rights in education.

AFP Action Reaffirms Support for John Sununu

Concord, NH – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) reaffirms its support for John Sununu as he officially files to run for U.S. Senate.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Sarah Scott released the following statement:

Higher costs, runaway spending, and a congressman who talked a big game back home while voting with Washington’s agenda. That is who Chris Pappas is, and Granite Staters are done with that playbook.

“John Sununu is a different kind of leader who offers steady leadership. He has spent his career delivering results for New Hampshire and understands that Granite Staters don’t need more partisan posturing, but real solutions to the rise in cost-of-living hitting family budgets. From reining in federal spending to strengthening the local economy, Sununu is focused on the work that actually matters to people back home. AFP Action is proud to support Sununu because Granite Staters deserve a senator who represents New Hampshire values, and this November, we intend to help make that happen.

Heather Andrews, AFP Action Senior Advisor, issued the following statement:

Young Kim advancing to the November general election shows that she earned the trust of voters due to her proven record. She has fought for working families to ensure they keep more of their hard-earned money, pushed to expand domestic energy production, and championed commonsense reforms to make housing more affordable. AFP Action Congratulates Ashley Hinson on Primary Election Victory

DES MOINES, IA — Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today congratulated Congresswoman Ashley Hinson on her victory in the Republican primary election to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.

After the win, AFP Action Senior Advisor Tyler Raygor released the following statement:

“AFP Action congratulates Congresswoman Ashley Hinson on earning the trust and support of Iowa voters in today’s primary election. From the outset of this race, AFP Action was proud to support Hinson because of her consistent record of advancing policies that expand opportunity, limit government overreach and empower individuals and families to thrive.

“Hinson has demonstrated principled leadership and a clear commitment to fiscal responsibility, economic freedom and removing barriers that hold back hardworking Iowans. Her ability to build consensus and deliver results reflects the kind of leadership needed in Washington.

“As the campaign moves forward, we are confident Hinson will continue to champion policies that promote growth, innovation and prosperity for all Americans. AFP Action looks forward to supporting her in the general election and working alongside her to advance solutions that create a stronger future for Iowa and the country.”

AFP Action endorsed Hinson in early May, citing her track record of advocating for lower taxes, reduced regulatory burdens, and policies that support job creation and economic growth, as well as her commitment to accountability and limited government.

Today, AFP Action announced a $6.3 million ad blitz into 2026 Senate states, including Iowa. The campaign highlights the rising cost of living — groceries, gas, and everyday goods — and elevates Hinson’s pro-growth solutions to address the problem.

New AFP Action Ad Highlights How Roy Cooper’s Policies Would Make Life More Expensive for North Carolinians

RALEIGH, NC  – As first reported by Politico, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced a $6.3 million ad buy in six U.S. Senate battleground states, including North Carolina. The ads focus on cost-of-living policies, including how Roy Cooper’s energy policies as governor would have cost the average North Carolina family $434 more in electricity costs a year. In contrast, Michael Whatley will support policies that unleash American energy and in turn lower the cost of living.

AFP Action senior advisor for North Carolina Tyler Voigt released the following statement:

“Roy Cooper will put his party’s progressive agenda over commonsense solutions to address cost-of-living issues that are hurting North Carolina families. As governor, he vetoed tax cuts that put more money back in the pockets of North Carolinians. Roy Cooper would be more of the status quo in Washington, putting his party’s agenda first.

“Michael Whatley is tired of Washington’s gridlock and career politicians failing the people who elected them. Whatley has a plan to lower taxes, cut spending, and unleash American energy. Whatley will put North Carolina families first.”

AFP Action Endorses Ashley Hinson for U.S. Senate

DES MOINES, IA— Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its endorsement of Ashley Hinson for U.S. Senate. A longtime policy champion for sister organization Americans for Prosperity, Hinson has fought for Iowans in the U.S. House of Representatives, securing policy wins on right-to-work issues and consistently advocating for the REINS Act

Tyler Raygor, AFP Action Senior Advisor, issued the following statement:

“AFP Action is proud to endorse Ashley Hinson in her bid to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate. A former state representative, congresswoman, mother and life-long Iowan, Hinson deeply understands our communities and will continue to fight for the future of our state.

“Hinson approaches issues in Congress with a clear commitment to free-market principles and limited government. Throughout her time as a public servant, Hinson has worked to balance the budget, cut taxes, and protect the most vulnerable.”

AFP Action will deploy its full grassroots infrastructure in support of Hinson’s campaign, including door-to-door voter engagement, targeted outreach, and data-driven voter contact efforts. Early engagement will be critical in a race that will help shape the direction of the country for years to come.

AFP Action Endorses Kurt Alme for U.S. Senate

MISSOULA, MT — Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its endorsement of Kurt Alme for the United States Senate, backing a proven leader with a record of delivering results and advancing policies rooted in economic freedom, limited government, and accountability.

Jesse Ramos, AFP Action Senior Advisor, issued the following statement:

“Kurt Alme has a proven track record in tax policy, budgeting, public safety, and public service. He approaches these issues with a clear commitment to free-market principles and limited government. Just as important, his record shows he knows how to turn those principles into results. That’s why AFP Action is proud to support Kurt Alme for U.S. Senate.”

Alme brings a results-driven background to the race. As Montana’s former U.S. Attorney under President Trump, he led efforts to combat violent crime, drug trafficking, and public corruption across the state. In the private sector, Alme’s work at Crowley Fleck provided firsthand experience with the real-world impact of regulation and federal policy on businesses and job creators.

As Gov. Martz’s Revenue Director, Kurt Alme helped implement the largest income tax cut in Montana’s modern history—reducing the top rate by roughly 37% and simplifying the system. At a time when rising federal spending is driving inflation and making it harder for Montana families to get ahead, that kind of leadership matters. Alme has a proven record of keeping taxes low, reining in spending, and advancing policies that put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Montanans.

This race will determine whether Montana continues to lead on pro-growth policies — low taxes, responsible spending, energy development, and regulatory restraint — or whether we drift toward the same top-down, government-heavy approach that has driven up costs and limited opportunity across the country.

Kurt Alme offers a clear approach— disciplined, limited government, strong economic growth, and the freedom for Montanans to build their own future without interference from Washington.

AFP Action will deploy its full grassroots infrastructure in support of Alme’s campaign, including door-to-door voter engagement, targeted outreach, and data-driven voter contact efforts. Early engagement will be critical in a race that will help shape the direction of the country for years to come.

AFP Action Endorses Rep. Young Kim, Highlights Record of Delivering Results for Californians

Heather Andrews, AFP Action Senior Advisor, issued the following statement:

“Californians can’t afford more out-of-touch politics—they need leadership in Washington that delivers real results. Young Kim is a principled conservative who puts Californians first and has the record to prove it. In Congress, she’s delivered meaningful tax relief for working families, fought to rein in wasteful spending, and secured resources to strengthen our border. She has also consistently supported pro-growth, lower-tax policies that help small businesses expand, create jobs, and strengthen the economy.

Kim embodies AFP Action’s principles and consistently puts them into action, which is why we are excited to stand behind her and look forward to her continued leadership in Congress as she works to deliver accountability, opportunity, and results for Californians.”

AFP Action has thrown its support behind Kim with digital ads and mailers that showcase her record of delivering for Californians and reinforce her reputation as a trusted, effective leader. View the digital ad here

Elections are won on the ground, and Saturday’s kickoff showed the energy and commitment already behind John Sununu. With margins expected to be razor-thin, the conversations happening at the doors right now will make all the difference come November.

“The message we heard from voters was clear—families are being squeezed and want real relief they can feel in their day-to-day lives, not more empty promises. John Sununu is the proven leader we need. He is someone who will fight for lower taxes, more opportunity, and a stronger economy. The energy we saw on the ground today is exactly what it’s going to take to turn out voters and secure victory in November.”

John Sununu said

As Senator, I’ll have just one job—stand up for the people of New Hampshire every single day.

Background on AFP Action Endorsed Candidate John Sununu:

John Sununu brings a legacy of principled leadership to drive real results for New Hampshire. As a former Congressman and Senator representing New Hampshire, Sununu spent 12 years in Washington fighting to rein in government overreach, cut taxes, and reduce wasteful spending. His work in regulatory reform helped streamline federal bureaucracy and protect small businesses from burdensome rules. Sununu’s commitment to limited government and fiscal discipline reflects the values Granite Staters care about most — accountability, efficiency, and economic freedom. Daily Signal: Americans for Prosperity Action Endorses Husted

Rebecca Downs | 3/16/26

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Sen. Jon Husted is landing an endorsement from Americans for Prosperity Action in what is set to become its largest grassroots effort campaign.

As Donovan O’Neil, a senior adviser to AFP Action, explained to The Daily Signal, the support for the Ohio Republican will involve a “robust” campaign from digital ads to canvassing.

It will also include a data focus, identifying 2 million voters for AFP Action to engage. O’Neil said this bloc of voters can be the “change maker” in the election.

Former Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, is looking to make a comeback after losing to Republican now-Sen. Bernie Moreno in 2024.

AFP Action will immediately commence canvassing efforts across Ohio’s 88 counties.

As the secretary of state in 2017, Husted received the inaugural Taxpayers’ Torch Award from Americans for Prosperity’s Ohio chapter.

O’Neil applauded Husted’s efforts in the Senate on family tax cuts and on a principled balanced budget amendment. “Good government is the through line for Husted,” O’Neil shared, calling him “the future.”

Brown has attacked Husted on economic issues in recent weeks, saying the senator “would rather fight for billionaires” and calling attention to rising health care prices for Ohioans.

“I’m in this for the Ohioans picking up odd jobs after work to help pay the rent. I’m in this for the parents putting $10 in the tank at a time just to make it to payday,” Brown said on X.

O’Neil recalled “consistently hearing at the doors in 2024” of concerns about the economy and inflation, a lack of reinvestment in Ohio, and border security.

Ohio has been a bellwether in past elections, and the state still carries significance in 2026. O’Neil acknowledged that Ohio “is a red state,” but that one “shouldn’t take Ohio voters for granted.”

“The final two years of [President Donald] Trump’s term will be highly impacted by how Ohio votes this November,” O’Neil said.

The Cook Political Report considers this Senate race as “Lean Republican.” The Ohio 2024 Senate race was reportedly the most expensive in the country, and this year’s race could follow that pattern.

AFP Action Launches Statewide Grassroots Efforts Supporting U.S. Senator Jon Husted

COLUMBUS, OH – As reported in The Daily Signal today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) for election and began statewide grassroots efforts across Ohio that will be the largest voter engagement effort in AFP Action’s history.

AFP Action will target 1.5 million households across Ohio representing 2 million voters with door-to-door outreach in support of Sen. Husted from today through election day. This groundwork will communicate Husted’s outstanding record from his first year in office, reinforcing AFP Action’s targeted strategy to turn out the right voters and elect him for a full term in the U.S. Senate.

Donovan O’Neil, AFP Action senior advisor, issued the following statement:

“At a time when many Ohioans are struggling with rising living costs, AFP Action is proud to announce its endorsement of Senator Jon Husted for election. Husted has championed transformative tax reform and responsible spending throughout his entire career, from the Ohio state House to the U.S. Senate, where he drove support for President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cut.

“This year’s election presents a critical opportunity for Ohioans to protect the Republican majority in the Senate and prevent Sherrod Brown from returning to push his Washington first, Ohio second economic policies. Husted is the clear choice for Ohioans concerned about lingering inflation and reigning in federal spending.

“Husted will have the support of AFP Action’s vast network of grassroots activists across the state, who will work non-stop until November to ensure he continues to represent hardworking Ohioans in Washington and that Sherrod Brown stays in retirement.”

AFP Action Endorses Byron Donalds for Governor

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) endorsed Byron Donalds for governor of Florida. AFP Action will deploy its vast grassroots capabilities throughout the Sunshine State to educate and mobilize voters in support of Congressman Donalds leading up to the August 18th primary.

AFP Action senior adviser for Florida Skylar Zander released the following statement:

“Congressman Donalds built a strong policy record for himself during his time in Congress, and AFP Action is confident that he will continue to be a leader on housing and insurance reform, education, and fiscal oversight as governor. We are glad that Congressman Donalds wants to protect Florida’s 2023 tort reform laws and to continue depopulating Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. He is a strong supporter of school choice, having passed legislation that created the Hope Scholarship.

“Florida’s next governor will surely make decisions that will impact Floridians beyond the next four years. That’s why it is critical that our next governor not only has a proven policy record but also exercises solid leadership. Floridians deserve a race focused on the real issues that matter—attainable homeownership, education freedom, insurance stability, and fiscal responsibility—rather than personal attacks, political games or divisive rhetoric that pulls attention away from solutions.

“Congressman Donalds is running a campaign grounded in real solutions—tackling the big challenges facing Florida today and building a stronger future for families through proven conservative policies and strong principled leadership. AFP Action is thrilled to support Donalds and looks forward to deploying our grassroots network on his behalf.”

AFP Action Announces First Wave of U.S. Senate Endorsements for 2026

Early Engagement in Key U.S. Senate Races Sets the Stage for Lasting Policy Gains in 2026 and Beyond

ARLINGTON, VA – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is today making its first U.S. Senate endorsements of the 2026 mid-term cycle, an election year that has the potential to reshape Washington’s policy landscape for the next decade.

With the endorsements of Michael Whatley  for U.S. Senate in North Carolina and Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate in Michigan, AFP Action is signaling an early and aggressive commitment to defending and building strong limited-government policy coalitions in Congress.

AFP Action Director Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“Candidates Michael Whatley and Mike Rogers have demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding freedom and opportunity through policies that limit government and empower people. We need more U.S. Senators with that same outlook to keep our country headed in the right direction, as well as provide an essential check on far-left progressive policies that are becoming more extreme by the day.

“The opportunity in front of us isn’t just about winning in 2026, it’s about shaping the future of our country. That’s why we’ll be unleashing the full power of our 20-year grassroots infrastructure and cutting-edge data to help these candidates win — because when we organize early and lead with purpose, we can help make the difference in close races. This cycle, that could mean the difference between a generation of prosperity or a return to the failed policies of the past.

“Last cycle, AFP and AFP Action engaged in more state and federal races than ever before, and with what’s at stake in 2026, we fully expect it to be another record-breaking year. Early engagement and outreach is critical to identifying key issues, setting a narrative, and mobilizing support, which is why we’re wasting no time.”

Without limited-government majorities in Congress, strong pro-growth policies like fiscal restraint, regulatory reform, and energy abundance would be out of reach. That’s why AFP and AFP Action are all-in on what may be the most pivotal election cycle in recent memory. With AFP’s 36 permanent grassroots chapters, a presence in all 50 states, and AFP Action hitting the ground earlier and harder than ever, we’re executing a bold, long-term strategy for winning elections that lead to winning policies.

In 2024, AFP and AFP Action engaged in a record-breaking 647 races, knocking on 20 million doors, and reaching 30 million voters. This cycle is expected to significantly exceed those 2024 metrics across the board. Over the past year, AFP’s grassroots army has already been out connecting with Americans in key states like Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Ohio, talking to voters about their top concerns and their views on important issues like the economy, tax policy, border security, regulatory reform, health care, energy and more. The valuable insights gathered through those conversations will be acquired by AFP Action to help shape the 2026 strategy.

Background on AFP Action Endorsed Candidates:

Michael Whatley has the business acumen and leadership experience to deliver real results for the people of North Carolina in the U.S. Senate. His commitment to an all-of-the-above energy strategy, meaningful tax reform, and sound fiscal policy reflects a clear vision for economic growth. By prioritizing regulatory reform and advocating for a leaner, more efficient government, Whatley stands ready to restore accountability in Washington and ensure North Carolinians keep more of their hard-earned income.

Mike Rogers is a proven leader with the experience and judgment to deliver for Michigan in the U.S. Senate. As a former congressman, he’s demonstrated the ability to tackle tough challenges—cutting taxes, promoting energy independence, and eliminating harmful regulations. Rogers is ready to fight inflationary spending, shrink government overreach, and reignite the American Dream. Michiganders can count on him to bring principled, effective leadership back to Washington.

AFP Action Backs former Congressman Mike Rogers for U.S. Senate

Lansing, Michigan—Today Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) threw its support behind former Congressman Mike Rogers in his bid to serve as Michigan’s next Senator.

AFP Action endorsed Rogers for his commitment to lowering taxes, embracing energy abundance, and eliminating harmful regulations. If elected, Michiganders can look to him to oppose inflationary government spending and vote to secure the border that has been neglected by the current administration.

This endorsement rounds out AFP Action’s Senate “Firewall Strategy,” to prevent one-party progressive rule in Washington.

After the announcement, AFP Action Senior Advisor Tim Golding issued the following statement:

“Michiganders are energized and motivated to send a policy champion like former Michigan Congressman Mike Rogers to the U.S. Senate. For years, Michigan’s Senators have prioritized special interests over the concerns of their constituents.

“By backing Mike Rogers, AFP Action is backing transformative policy that can renew America’s economy and reignite the American Dream: from keeping taxes low, to embracing an all-of-the-above approach to domestic energy production, to securing the border and opposing inflationary government spending, Michiganders can rely on Rogers to voice their concerns and stand up for their families. Now more than ever, this is a chance to send a proven leader back to Washington and say “no” to the inflationary spending and overburdensome regulations backed by Elissa Slotkin and her entrenched allies.”

AFP Action Announces Next Wave of State Legislative Endorsements in Contested Georgia Races

Atlanta, Georgia—Today Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) threw its support behind candidates running in contested primaries in Georgia.

State Senator Kay Kirkpatrick (SD-32) as well as Speaker Pro Temp Jan Jones and State Reps. Todd Jones (HD-25), Chuck Martin (HD-49), Lauren Daniel (HD-117), David Jenkins (HD-136) will have AFP Action’s backing in their primary races.

These lawmakers have earned AFPA’s endorsement for their commitment to protecting Georgia’s taxpayers, lowering barrier to work and employment, expanding education freedom for Georgia’s students, and supporting reforms to healthcare policy that give Georgians a personal option in health care.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Tony West issued the following statement after announcing the endorsed candidates:

“Georgians have seen amazing progress this year as the legislature embraced transformative policies to advance education freedom, increase access to healthcare, and remove barriers to employment and entrepreneurship. These champions helped get good policy to the governor’s desk, but they aren’t going to stop there, or rest on their laurels. We have more work to do to make Georgia freer and more prosperous. We need them to stay in Atlanta and keep moving freedom forward in the Peach State.”

Background

Senator Kay Kirkpatrick

With her extensive background in medicine, Senator Kirkpatrick utilized her expertise again this term to advance policies that give Georgians a personal option. Most prominently, she served on the Senate’s Certificate of Need Reform Study Committee and was a credible and stalwart voice for the need for repealing this outdated regulation.

Rep. Jan Jones

Speaker Pro Temp Jones was integral in building support in the House for transformative education policy, Senate Bill 233. Big policy change requires top tier leadership, and Jones’ leadership on this bill contributed significantly to the bill’s eventual passage.

Rep. Todd Jones

As the House sponsor of Senate Bill 233, Rep. Jones was critical in pushing forward this important piece of legislation to empower parents to have more control over their child’s education. Additionally, he was the House sponsor for Senate Bill 429, the Small Business Protection Act which would provide the legislature with more oversight on the negative impacts regulation cane have on businesses.

Rep. Chuck Martin

As a member of the House Regulated Industries Committee, Rep. Martin has developed an expertise and been a leading voice on the need for smart regulatory policy, including occupational licensure reform, like with his sponsorship of House Bill 155. Martin is also a taxpayer champion, consistently speaking for the taxpayer and being willing to question the wisdom of expensive tax expenditures that are awarded to specific businesses or industries at the expense of the average taxpayer.

Rep. Lauren Daniel

In her first term, Rep. Daniel has shown leadership on important issues. After Senate Bill 233 failed in the House in 2023, she was one of three representatives to attend a press conference encouraging the House to continue to pursue this important legislation. Additionally, Rep. Daniel has spoken out on the need for certificate of need reform, specifically for allowing birth centers to be exempted. This policy change was included in the CON reform bill, House Bill 1339.

Rep. David Jenkins

Rep. Jenkins has been outspoken in his support of empowering people and limiting government.  A prime example of that was his sponsorship of House Bill 212 to lower occupational licensure barriers. While this bill didn’t pass, his efforts in 2023 set the stage for a similar bill to earn final passage in 2024, Senate Bill 354.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO —Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Jeff Crank in his bid to represent Colorado’s 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

AFP Action announced last year the organization would be engaging earlier and in more primaries than ever before. Today’s endorsements put that promise into action.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Jesse Mallory released the following statement:

“AFP Action is engaging in this race because Jeff Crank is a conservative patriot and the best candidate to serve the people of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.

“Crank has always put people ahead of politics and has been a relentless advocate for Colorado taxpayers. He understands that Coloradans are sick and tired of economic uncertainty and rising inflation and has the experience and depth of knowledge to enact substantive policy change in Washington, DC.

“A true conservative, Crank will fight for fiscal restraint and American energy abundance in Congress.

“AFP Action intends to put the full weight of our grassroots capabilities behind Crank’s candidacy to ensure he’s elected to the House of Representatives come November.”

BACKGROUND:

AFP Action has acquired the data from outreach to more than 8 million people to bring new voters into the primary process and ensure we elect better candidates. Those insights will direct the activities of the largest grassroots operation in the country that are ready to knock on doors to bring voters to the polls and win support for Jeff Crank. AFP Action invests extensively in mail, digital, and connected-television campaigns to lay the foundation for the one-on-one conversations by grassroots advocates that are often the difference-maker in any close race. In 2022, AFP and AFP Action engaged in 457 races, knocking on more than 7 million doors, delivering over 100 million pieces of mail, and reaching millions more voters through phone and email.

Americans for Prosperity Action Endorses Eric Hovde for U.S. Senate

MADISON, WI – Today, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) announced support for Eric Hovde’s bid for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin.

AFP Action is getting involved earlier than ever before in federal and state primaries to elect better candidates who are strong advocates for policies that will improve the lives of all Americans.

Megan Novak, AFP Action Senior Advisor, issued the following statement:

“AFP Action is excited to back Eric Hovde, a candidate who will fight for economic freedom and policies that put our nation back on a path toward prosperity. As Americans struggle to make ends meet under Biden’s failing economy, career politicians like Tammy Baldwin and her support for runaway spending and inflationary policies are to blame. The economy is at the front of mind for voters this year and Eric Hovde is the leader Wisconsinites are looking for. One that puts Americans first, unleashes energy production, and fights for a more competitive economy that ensures opportunity for all.

“Wisconsinites cannot afford the Biden-Baldwin partnership any longer. That is why AFP Action is ready to put its full weight of grassroots capabilities behind Hovde, a candidate who can help lead our country forward and win.”

Background:

AFP Action has acquired the data from AFP conversations with more than 8 million people to bring new voters into the primary process and ensure we elect better candidates. Those insights will direct the activities of the largest grassroots operation in the country that are ready to knock on doors to bring voters to the polls and win support for Eric Hovde. AFP Action will also invest in extensive mail, digital, and connected-television campaigns to lay the foundation for grassroots advocates or reinforce conversations that have already taken place. In 2022, AFP and AFP Action engaged in 457 races, knocking on more than 7 million doors, delivering over 100 million pieces of mail, and reaching millions more voters through phone and email.

AFP Action Endorses Chris Balkema and Regan Deering for State Legislature

SPRINGFIELD, IL —Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Chris Balkema and Regan Deering in their bids for the Illinois State Senate and State House of Representatives. Balkema is in Illinois’ 53rd Senate District, and Deering is in Illinois’ 88th House District.

AFP Action announced last year the organization would be engaging earlier and in more primaries than ever before. Today’s endorsements put that promise into action.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Jason Heffley released the following statement:

Chris Balkema has spent the past 13 years on the Grundy County Board, where he worked to relieve the impacts of rising inflation and high living costs facing Illinois families. A former businessman, Chris deeply understands the importance of a thriving, bottom-up economy – and has the experience to enact real reform in Springfield.

Regan Deering has a proven track record of serving her and fighting to create a more prosperous state. Illinoisans are in some of the toughest economic times since the 2008 recession – and Deering has vowed to be an advocate in the legislature to reign in Springfield’s reckless spending.

“AFP Action’s strong grassroots organization throughout the state will be focused on making Chris Balkema and Regan Deering the Land of Lincoln’s newest legislators come November.”

NEW ADS: AFP Action Ads Urge Montanans to Turn the Page on Tester, Support Sheehy for U.S. Senate

MISSOULA, MT – Today, AFP Action released a new seven-figure spend ad campaign highlighting Jon Tester’s lockstep voting record with Joe Biden and his failure to stand up for Montanans. In contrast, additional AFP Action ads highlight Tim Sheehy as a political outsider who will fight to secure the southern border, battle inflation, and unleash American energy abundance.

Jon Tester has spent 18 years in the Senate – and now votes with President Biden 91% of the time, proving time and again he’ll choose his party bosses over Montanans. Among other failures for the state, Tester was the deciding vote to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline in the Senate, costing the state countless well-paying jobs.

The ads urge voters to move past Senator Tester, saying, “We must do better. Turn the page on Senator Jon Tester.”

View Ad HERE

Montanans are facing the greatest economic uncertainty since the great recession of 2008. Rising inflation has led to rising living costs, making life more and more unaffordable. Tester has spent nearly 20 years in the Senate and hasn’t delivered for Big Sky Country. In contrast, Sheehy is a decorated veteran and creator of thousands of jobs in the state. Montana deserves a senator as independent as the state – and a political outsider like Tim Sheehy is the best candidate to defeat Jon Tester this November.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Jesse Ramos released the following statement:

“These ads signify AFP Action’s dedication to defeating Senator Tester this November – Tester has been a rubber stamp for his party bosses for too long. It’s time for Montana to turn the page on Tester like he’s turned his back on us time and again. Montana can’t afford six more years of the disastrous Tester-Biden agenda.

“That’s why AFP Action is backing conservative outsider Tim Sheehy for U.S. Senate. Sheehy will fight for Montana just like he fought or our country. His commitment to securing the border, combatting inflation, reining in spending, and tapping America’s limitless energy potential represents a new chapter for Montana and stands in stark contrast to the far-left progressive agenda that Tester has fully embraced.”

AFP Action Endorses Jeff Hurd and State Rep. Gabe Evans for Congress

DENVER, CO —Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Jeff Hurd and State Representative Gabe Evans in their bids for the U.S. House of Representatives. Hurd is in Colorado’s 3rd congressional district, and Rep. Evans is in Colorado’s new 8th congressional district.

AFP Action announced last year the organization would be engaging earlier and in more primaries than ever before. Today’s endorsements put that promise into action.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Jesse Mallory released the following statement:

“A first-time candidate who deeply understands his community, AFP Action believes Jeff Hurd to be the candidate that should take over the newly open 3rd congressional district. Hurd acknowledges the need to combat inflation and cost-of-living increases in Colorado and emphasizes the need for a secure southern border with increased technology, infrastructure, and boots on the ground.

Representative Gabe Evans has a track record of serving his community – whether in the State House or as a former police officer. Coloradans are facing rate increase upon tax increase – and Rep. Evans has vowed to be an advocate in Congress to reign in Washington’s reckless spending and stop the attempts to stifle the American energy industry. Rep. Evans is the best candidate to defeat Yadira Caraveo in a general election.

“AFP Action’s strong grassroots organization throughout the state will be focused on making Jeff Hurd and Rep. Gabe Evans Colorado’s newest congressmen come November.”

AFP Action Endorses Rob Bresnahan’s Bid to Unseat Rep. Matt Cartwright

Scranton, Pennsylvania—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its support for Rob Bresnahan’s bid to represent Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District in Congress.

Owner of a local construction business, Bresnahan is prepared to advocate for policies that make it easier to start and grow businesses in the Keystone State, including cutting unnecessary red tape, keeping taxes low, unleashing domestic energy, and ending wasteful government spending that drives up inflation.

This is the fourth endorsement the grassroots super PAC has made in Pennsylvania for the 2024 election cycle. In 2023, AFP Action endorsed Pennsylvania State Reps. Ryan Mackenzie and Rob Mercuri for U.S. House and businessman Dave McCormick for U.S. Senate.

After announcing the latest endorsement, AFP Action Senior Advisor Ashley Klingensmith gave the following statement:

“For too long, Pennsylvanians have had lackluster representation in Congress. Instead of listening to constituents’ top priorities, Representatives like Matt Cartwright have advanced an agenda that grows government, grows the national debt, and grows onerous regulations that depress the economy. It’s time for new leadership in Congress and Rob Bresnahan will be part of a new generation of lawmakers in the Pennsylvania delegation that will turn the page on the status quo in Washington.”

Americans for Prosperity Action Backs Arizona Fiscal Champions for Congress

Representative David Schweikert and Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma Earn early support from Grassroots Super PAC

Phoenix, Arizona—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today endorsed Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma (HD-27) and Representative David Schweikert (AZ-01) for U.S. House of Representatives.

The endorsements come as AFP Action prepares for a record-breaking 2024 election with the promise to engage earlier and more often—especially in primaries.

To that end, AFP Action endorsed Arizona Speaker of the House Ben Toma to run for Arizona’s eighth congressional district, which will be left open by Representative Debbie Lesko, who will retire at the end of the 118th Congress.

In Arizona’s first district, AFP Action backed incumbent Representative David Schweikert, a reliable fiscal conservative dedicated to getting the national debt under control and cutting government spending.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Stephen Shadegg gave the following statement after the announcement:

“Arizona taxpayers have had a great champion in Speaker Ben Toma. He has truly looked out for them and proven that he is an outstanding steward of taxpayer funds and a skilled negotiator as well as a tireless fighter. Thanks to him, Arizona passed the lowest flat tax in the country. In addition to scoring this win for taxpayers, Toma also shepherded legislation that created Arizona’s universal education savings accounts through the legislature. It’s time for Arizonans to promote him.

“Over ten years of serving Arizona’s first congressional district, Rep. David Schweikert has proven that he is a stalwart champion on issues related to cutting spending, keeping taxes low, and sounding the alarm about the national security threat that is our National Debt. Arizonans need him to stay where he is and continue fighting to keep Washington accountable to taxpayers.

“AFP Action is proud to endorse these candidates and ensure that they make it to Washington. Through our unrivalled network of grassroots activists, we will be pounding the pavement, dialing the phones, and spreading the word about both Rep. Schwikert and Speaker Toma.”

ICYMI: AFP Action Senior Advisor Urges Granite Staters to Back Haley

New Hampshire Advantage Depends on Turning the Page on Biden and Trump

Manchester, New Hampshire—On Sunday, Americans for Prosperity Action Senior Advisor Greg Moore penned an opinion piece in the New Hampshire Union Leader urging Granite Staters to back Nikki Haley in the much-anticipated New Hampshire Primary.

In the piece, Moore makes the case that Haley not only can beat President Joe Biden, but also will give down-ballot candidates the boost they need to preserve and expand a state policy majority in New Hampshire that prioritizes economic opportunity and expands personal freedom.

“In 2024, New Hampshire Republicans are again in a position to win big in November—provided they learn from 2022 (and 2020 and 2016). History shows that New Hampshire voters don’t like Donald Trump and they’ll punish the party that embraces him.

“Trump lost New Hampshire in the general election in both 2016 and 2020. Trump-aligned candidates lost in 2022. Another loss like that in 2024, and the tiny Republican majority in the N.H. House is in jeopardy. The Senate and the governor’s office are at risk too.

“New Hampshire Democrats would like nothing more than to see a 2024 election with Sununu off the ballot and Trump on it. Sununu has already said he’s not running for re-election. Democrats have half of their dream Republican ballot. Why give them the other half?

“In the presidential primary on January 23, Republican and independent voters could choose the candidate Democrats most want to see at the top of the GOP ticket. Or they could choose the one they most fear: Nikki Haley.”

Moore enumerates the list of top priorities that are within reach if Granite Staters write a new chapter by nominating Haley:

  • Ending runaway federal spending
  • Restoring order at the border
  • Controlling inflation
  • Reviving the American economy
  • Expanding school choice in New Hampshire
  • Keeping New Hampshire income-tax-free
  • Maintaining the state’s pro-growth tax cuts

“Granite Staters have a lot at stake in the next election. Nikki Haley gives Republicans and right-of-center independents the best odds of winning. Without her at the top of the ticket, Republicans’ most important priorities are at risk. Republicans have taken enough risky gambles lately. It’s time to back a winner. It’s time to back Nikki Haley.”

Nikki Haley Again Shows Voters Why She’ll Crush Biden in 2024

No Stronger Choice than Haley if Republicans Want to Win Back Washington

Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity Action Senior Advisor Emily Seidel made the following statement after tonight’s Republican presidential debate:

“Nikki Haley showed voters tonight why she is hands down the strongest candidate Republicans could put up against Joe Biden in November. She crushes Biden by double digits in a head-to-head matchup and beats him in the critical swing states that Trump lost. Nikki is a conservative fighter with a bold vision to turn our country around. She is the only candidate in the race who would boost Republicans up and down the ballot, and deliver an election that sweeps strong leaders into the House and Senate to address our country’s biggest challenges.

“Republicans cannot afford to gamble with our country’s future and risk another four years of Biden. If Republicans want to take back the White House, get our country back on the path to prosperity, and win again, there is no stronger choice than Nikki Haley.”

Since endorsing Haley for President, AFP Action has reached out to more than 750,000 voters and is putting to use the knowledge acquired from interviews with more than 6 million Republican primary voters through the summer and fall of 2023 to build support for Nikki Haley. The energy and enthusiasm AFP Action is hearing at the doors has translated into clear momentum for Haley in the polls.

AFP Action Endorses Pat Harrigan Bid for Congress

Raleigh, North Carolina—Americans for Prosperity Action today endorsed Pat Harrigan’s bid to represent North Carolina’s tenth congressional district.

The former Green Beret and local businessman earned AFP Action’s endorsement for his thoughtful approach to our nation’s fiscal and budgetary policies, commitment to lowering taxes, cutting red tape, and his genuine interest in addressing the substandard care given to veterans who have served our country.

AFP Action Senior Advisor Tyler Voigt gave the following statement after announcing the grassroots super PAC’s endorsement of Harrigan:

“Representative McHenry is leaving big shoes to fill with his retirement. Fortunately, Pat Harrigan is ready and willing to take on the job of representing the people of North Carolina’s 10th congressional district. As a veteran and a self-made businessman, he has the right perspective to take on Washington’s problems. He knows that heavy-handed government has made it harder to start and grow businesses, made life more expensive, and completely neglected veterans who deserve the care they were promised.

“AFP Action’s activists are ready to send a candidate committed to advancing principled policies to Washington so that Congress can get to work solving problems for the American people.”

Nikki Haley: A Proven Leader Who Will Deliver on Her Promises and Restore the American Dream

AFP Action announces new multimillion dollar ad buy “We Must Do Better”

Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity Action announced today in an organization-wide memo that it is proud to be throwing the full weight and scope of its grassroots operation behind Nikki Haley to help her become the next President of the United States. That effort will begin with a multimillion dollar ad campaign launching this week in all early and several Super Tuesday states calling on Americans to unite behind Haley’s positive vision to turn the page on today’s broken politics and move our country forward.

The ad, titled “We Must Do Better,” highlights the serious nature of America’s challenges and argues in order to fix what’s broken the country must look to new leadership. WATCH: “We Must Do Better”

Emily Seidel, Senior Advisor to AFP Action, said:

“As a true grassroots organization, we talk with Americans every day about their concerns for the future, frustration with our political system, and how we can get our country back on the right track. Their message to us is clear: Washington is broken and we must do better. We agree. When we announced our decision to engage in our first ever Republican presidential primary, we made it clear that we’d be looking for a candidate who can turn the page on our political dysfunction – and win. It’s clear that candidate is Nikki Haley. We can’t keep looking to the politicians of the past to fix the problems of today. Nikki Haley represents a new generation of leadership and offers a bold, positive vision for our future. AFP Action is proud to be endorsing her and we will be doing everything we can to help make her the next President of the United States.”

To date this year, Americans for Prosperity has communicated with more than 6 million potential Republican primary voters in key early states to understand what issues matter most to them and what they are looking for in candidates up and down the ballot. AFP Action has acquired this data and will begin putting it to use to support its endorsed candidates.

Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07)

As Republican Chair of the House Labor and Industry Committee, State Rep. Mackenzie has fought back against job-killing legislation and threats to small businesses while championing worker freedom and job creators when it comes to regulatory reform, taxes, and health care. In his eleven years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, he’s been a reliable steward of taxpayer dollars and regularly champions legislation that would put important guardrails on government spending. Last year, Mackenzie was one of only 13 state representatives to earn an “A” on Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania’s annual voting scorecard.

Tom Barrett (MI-07)

As a former state senator, Tom Barrett championed Michigan taxpayers and worked hard for those seeking upward mobility. He has a record for voting for commonsense policies that control government spending, promote economic growth, and create opportunities for new and better-paying jobs. He’s also worked to eliminate government rules and regulations that impose unnecessary burdens on the businesses that provide jobs and contribute to their communities.

Riley Moore (WV-02)

State Treasurer Riley Moore is committed to fighting for common-sense solutions to create opportunity for all Americans. His advocacy for energy independence, as well as his leadership on behalf of individual choice and freedom, have proven that he will boldly advocate for policies that will improve the lives of West Virginians.

Rob Mercuri (PA-17)

State Representative Rob Mercuri has applied his knowledge of banking and finance to champion important regulatory and fiscal causes in Harrisburg. As soon as he was sworn into office he made every vote count by voting for reduced government spending, simpler tax codes, and more abundant domestic energy production.

Retired U.S. Army Captain Sam Brown (Nevada)

Sam Brown has committed to advancing American energy abundance and economic prosperity when elected to the Senate. As a Purple Heart recipient for his service in the U.S. Army, coupled with his ongoing efforts to enhance veterans’ access to top-notch healthcare, Brown promises to be a prominent and leading advocate for veterans’ issues.
