ST. PAUL, MN – Americans for Prosperity Action Minnesota (AFP Action Minnesota) announced its endorsement of six candidates for the Minnesota Senate on Monday, deploying the North Star State’s largest network of grassroots activists in the most competitive races for the legislature.
AFP Action Minnesota Senior Advisor Jake Coleman gave the following statement:
“Minnesota is at a crossroads. We can either continue down our current path of corruption, fraud, and economic stagnation, or elect leaders this November who will correct course. We cannot afford another two years of a DFL-majority Senate.
“These proven leaders and principled newcomers are ready to end the status quo of ‘spend first, ask questions later’ in St. Paul that has bankrupted our state and abused our taxpayers.
“AFP Action Minnesota’s grassroots activists and volunteers will reach Minnesotans at the doors, over the phone, and through targeted mail and digital advertising to ensure they know the stakes for this election and build support for these outstanding candidates.”
AFP Action Minnesota endorsed the following candidates:
Andrea Zupanich (SD-03) As a real estate company owner and mayor of Babbitt, MN, Andrea Zupanich has seen how high taxes and fees hurt communities. She will be a leading voice on housing in the Senate, where she will work to reduce the complicated permitting requirements and outdated zoning codes that keep Minnesotans far away from family and job opportunities.
Austin Peterson (SD-04) Austin Peterson, a member of his school board in Northwest Minnesota, will work to protect school choice and parents’ rights in their children’s education. He sees the importance of keeping jobs from leaving Minnesota for neighboring states and improving the state’s economic competitiveness.
State Rep. Bernie Perryman (SD-14) Rep. Perryman is a leader on innovative health care reforms in the Senate. As a business owner, she brings firsthand understanding of Minnesota’s burdensome regulatory environment and has fought to put checks on the administrative state to prevent it from stifling small business growth.
State Sen. Michael Kreun (SD-32) Assistant Minority Leader Michael Kreun is a champion on regulatory and tax reform who has supported broad rate reductions and the elimination of sales taxes in the Twin Cities region. Crucially, he has supported rescinding the governor’s emergency rulemaking powers and preventing courts from deferring to government agencies on litigation involving regulatory issues.
Brady Hoag (SD-37) Brady Hoag is running to serve as a fiscal steward of taxpayer dollars, curb Minnesota’s fraud crisis, and improve the state’s business climate. His experience as a business owner will make him an effective advocate for regulatory reforms that will help Minnesota remain competitive with neighboring states.
State Rep. Tom Dippel (SD-41) During his first term, Rep. Dippel was a reliable vote in favor of pro-growth economic policies and protecting school choice. As board chair and founder of a classical private school, he understands that education freedom is crucial to Minnesota’s future.
