RALEIGH, NC—Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its support for 11 state legislative candidates – five State House and six State Senate candidates—vying for the North Carolina legislature in November’s elections. These individuals have earned the support of AFP Action for their dedication to principled policy solutions to tackle the greatest challenges North Carolinians face.

Senate
Warren Daniel (SD-46): As Chair to the Judiciary committee, Sen. Warren Daniel has championed smart on crime soft on taxpayer criminal justice reform and improved access to quality, affordable health care for all North Carolinians. Sen. Daniel’s proven track record of policy leadership and willingness to work across the aisle to pass meaningful reforms has helped modernize our state’s criminal justice system and allowed more North Carolina families to get the care they need.
Sebastian King (SD-27): While Sebastian King is not a current member of the legislature, AFP Action sees his dedication to advancing opportunity for every North Carolinian as a much needed presence in the legislature. King has shown he will prioritize getting our economy back on track, improving access to quality affordable health care, and ensuring our communities are safer and allow for second chances.
Michael Lee (SD-09): In representing Senate District 9, Sen. Michael Lee has championed educational opportunity and tax reform that allows hard-working North Carolinians keep more of what they earn. If re-elected, Sen. Lee will continue championing economic opportunity for all North Carolinians.
Wesley Meredith (SD-19): We are confident in Wesley Meredith’s commitment to increasing economic opportunity so everyone can pursue their American dream. He has voiced support for removing red tape to make it easier for our businesses, jobs, and economy to rebuild, and ensuring hard-working North Carolinians keep more of what they earn.
Danny Britt, Jr. (SD-13): As Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Danny Britt has been a long-time champion of supporting smart on crime, soft on taxpayer criminal justice reforms that make our communities safer and allow for second chances. Sen. Britt has also supported increasing access to quality affordable health care – a top priority for all North Carolinians—and reducing the tax burden on hardworking families.
Tom McInnis (SD-25): State Senator Tom McInnis has shown leadership by engaging in legislation that would increase access to quality, affordable health care, provide more educational opportunities for students, and lower the tax burden for North Carolina families.
House
Ed Goodwin (HD-01): While in his first term, Representative Goodwin has already advocated for reforms that improve the lives of all North Carolinians. Goodwin has proven he’s committed to breaking barriers that hold North Carolinians back by supporting important policy solutions to the challenges they face.

Jon Hardister (HD-59): While serving as House Majority Whip, Representative Jon Hardister used his voice in the legislature to advocate smart on crime, soft on taxpayers criminal justice reform that ensures North Carolinians that have paid their debts have a real chance to start over.
