GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Following last night’s debate between Mike Rogers and Abdul El-Sayed, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is urging Michigan voters to take a principled look at the choice before them. One path builds on opportunity and free enterprise; the other hands Washington more control over their healthcare, paychecks, and jobs.
While El-Sayed is running on a “cradle-to-grave” Medicare for All plan, tax hikes, and more government control, Mike Rogers is fighting to cut spending and taxes, rein in government overreach, and protect the American dream for Michigan families.
AFP Action Senior Advisor for Michigan Tim Golding released the following statement:
“Abdul El-Sayed’s answer to every problem is more government: a federal takeover of healthcare, tax hikes that land on the small businesses employing Michiganders, and an energy agenda that puts the auto jobs this state was built on at risk.
“Michigan already ranks 27th in the nation for economic competitiveness, and we can’t afford to go further in the wrong direction. Voters saw a clear contrast on the debate stage, and Mike Rogers made the case that more opportunity, not more Washington, is what will move Michigan forward.”
