AFP Action on Detroit Economic Club Forum: The Solution to Michigan’s 43rd-Ranked Economy is Mike Rogers

Following the Detroit Economic Club Forum, AFP Action says Michigan’s 43rd-ranked economy cannot afford Abdul El-Sayed

DETROIT, MI – Michigan’s economy ranks 43rd in the nation, and Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) says today’s Detroit Economic Club Forum showed which candidate would actually change that. At the forum, Mike Rogers focused on jobs, paychecks, and the cost of living, while Abdul El-Sayed defended a larger federal role in Michiganders’ healthcare and higher taxes.

Mike Rogers is running to turn Michigan’s economy around. He’ll fight to cut taxes and rein in Washington’s spending, lower costs at the gas pump and the grocery store, and protect the auto and manufacturing jobs that built this state. More opportunity and less government is exactly what Michigan needs.

AFP Action Senior Advisor for Michigan Tim Golding released the following statement:

“Michigan’s economy ranks 43rd in the country, and families feel it every day in their paychecks, their grocery bills, and their job prospects. Our state can’t afford a socialist senator whose answer to everything is more taxes, more spending, and more government control.

“Abdul El-Sayed wants a government takeover of our healthcare, trillions in new Washington spending, and higher taxes on working families — a recipe for even higher prices and fewer jobs. Mike Rogers has a plan to cut taxes, unleash Michigan energy, and bring good-paying jobs back to our communities. Today it is abundantly clear that Michigan can’t afford El-Sayed, and Mike Rogers is the leader who will get our economy moving again.”
