Pierre, SD – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) announced its endorsements for three candidates in this year’s state legislative races.
AFP Action has endorsed the following candidates:
- State Sen. Sue Peterson (SD-13)
- State Sen. Amber Hulse (SD-30)
- State Rep. John Robert Hughes (HD-13)
All have proven themselves to be champions for AFP Action’s initiatives over the last year. Each has supported priorities like the REINS Act, advocated for small businesses, championed free speech legislation, voted for expanding education options, and pushed for transparency on new taxation proposals. This strong record is why they’ve earned AFP Action’s support, and they promise to continue advocating for those policies in next year’s legislative session.
AFP Action Senior Advisor Jennifer Beving released the following statement:
“Sen. Peterson, Sen. Hulse, and Rep. Hughes are exactly the type of people South Dakotans need working for them in Pierre. They have consistently fought for policies that favor working families, support small businesses, and empower taxpayers. We’re glad to wholeheartedly support these three for their reelection campaigns, and we look forward to working with them in the 2027 legislative session.”
