COLUMBUS, OH – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) today announced its endorsement of Derek Merrin for Congress in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District.
During his time in the Ohio General Assembly, Merrin served as Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee and pursued tax and regulatory policies including property-tax reforms, reductions in the state income tax, and occupational licensing reforms.
AFP Action Senior Advisor Donovan O’Neil issued the following statement:
“Derek Merrin has a record of taking on the barriers that make it harder for Ohioans to work, build a business, and keep more of what they earn. In the Statehouse, he fought to lower taxes, reform property taxes, and remove unnecessary occupational licensing barriers that stand between people and opportunity.
“Northwest Ohio families need a representative who understands that affordability starts with getting government out of the way and giving people greater freedom to succeed. Derek has demonstrated where he stands through his record, and we look forward to working alongside him to advance those principles in Congress.”
AFP Action will mobilize its grassroots network across Ohio’s 9th Congressional District in support of Merrin ahead of the November election.
