AFP Action: As Sanders, AOC, and National Democrats Parade Through Michigan for El-Sayed, Volunteers Keep Knocking Doors for Rogers

DETROIT, MI – Bernie Sanders is crisscrossing Michigan this week to rally with Abdul El-Sayed, a day after Barack Obama’s Detroit stop and following visits from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Kamala Harris. It’s clear that the national left is sending its biggest names to hold glitzy rallies for El-Sayed for one reason: he would be a reliable vote for their socialist agenda of government-run healthcare, sweeping tax increases, and extreme energy mandates.

While they stage made-for-TV rallies, Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is focused on what actually moves votes. Volunteers have knocked hundreds of thousands of doors making the case for Mike Rogers, and last week AFP Action released a new ad spotlighting the consequences of El-Sayed’s agenda and socialism creeping into American government.

Through Election Day, AFP Action will keep making the case for Mike Rogers — the leader who will lower costs, protect Michigan jobs, and put Michigan families first.

AFP Action Senior Advisor for Michigan Tim Golding released the following statement:

“When Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez come to Michigan to campaign for Abdul El-Sayed, it tells you everything about where he stands: squarely with the most radical wing of the Democrat Party. These are the champions of Medicare for All and the Green New Deal — a government takeover of health care and an energy agenda that would hollow out the industries Michigan was built on.

“El-Sayed’s own plans for health care, energy, and taxes are cut from the same cloth: more federal control over your doctor and your coverage, higher costs for families and businesses already stretched thin, and mandates that put Michigan’s auto and manufacturing jobs directly in the crosshairs.

“Mike Rogers is offering the opposite: lower costs, lower taxes, fewer regulations, and a senator who will fight for Michigan jobs rather than a national agenda. That’s why AFP Action volunteers will be at Michiganders’ doors every day between now and Election Day, laser focused on Mike Rogers becoming Michigan’s next senator.”
