Concord, NH – Americans for Prosperity Action (AFPA) Senior Advisor Sarah Scott’s statement following the New Hampshire Democrat Senate debate:
“Chris Pappas and Karishma Manzur used the debate as a chance to see who could promise more to voters, and it was a clear view of what direction they’d take New Hampshire if elected senator. The Granite State has worked too hard to become one of the freest states in the country for it to be threatened by progressive policies.
“Pappas wants voters to forget his record. He voted against the largest tax cut working New Hampshire families have seen in years, and his own primary opponent called him out for sitting on issues instead of doing the job himself. Pappas hasn’t stood up for Granite Staters. He’s stood in their way.
“John Sununu offers a different path forward: one where Washington gets out of the way, lets businesses grow instead of taxing and regulating them, and stays out of families’ decisions regarding their child’s education. Granite Staters want a leader who will stand up for their right to make those calls themselves, not one who defaults to Washington every time. Sununu is that leader who is focused on ensuring the Granite State remains free.”
