LANSING, MI — AFP Action today responds to the Michigan Democratic Convention, where state Democrats gather to prop up an agenda built on a wealth tax, a government takeover of health care, and greater Washington control over Michigan families’ lives.
AFP Action Senior Advisor Tim Golding released the following statement:
“While Michigan Democrats convene to prop up their radical socialist agenda, Michigan families are still waiting for answers on how they’re going to afford their grocery bills, their energy costs, and their healthcare.
“Make no mistake about what that agenda is: Abdul El-Sayed wants higher capital gains, payroll, income, and death taxes. He wants Medicare for All — a government takeover of health care that ends the private coverage millions of Michiganders get through their jobs. He spent years championing the Green New Deal, and now that utility bills are squeezing families, he won’t defend it. He’s called for abolishing ICE outright. That isn’t a Michigan plan, it’s a ridiculous and radical wish list that our state can’t afford.
“Electing Mike Rogers to the U.S. Senate is the only way to lower the cost of living, protect Michigan from Washington overreach, and expand opportunity for our hardworking families. AFP Action will continue fighting for candidates that will lower taxes, expand affordable energy, and protect the individual freedoms that Michigan’s working families deserve.”
