BOZEMAN, MT — With Montana’s candidate withdrawal deadline now passed, the U.S. Senate race is now set. Democrat nominee Alani Bankhead rejected weeks of pressure from her own party to step aside for so-called independent Seth Bodnar before the November general election.
Despite three candidates in the race, the choice is clear for Montanans: Alme has a proven track record of delivering results, while Bodnar and Bankhead are campaigning on empty promises backed by a fractured party.
AFP Action Senior Advisor Henry Kriegel issued the following statement:
“The ballot is set, and the contrast is clear: Kurt Alme has a tested record of delivering for Montana, while Bodnar and Bankhead spent the summer fighting instead of putting forward a serious plan to help ease the rising cost of living for hardworking Montana families.
“Alme helped deliver the largest tax cut in state history, managed Montana’s budget, and served as a federal prosecutor under President Trump to keep our communities safe. Alme is the only candidate in this race with a record of real results.
In an ad released last week, AFP Action introduces Alme to voters, grounding his campaign in his Montana roots and his record as a fiscal conservative ready to fight in the Senate for lower taxes and less regulation. Alme will put Montana values before Party politics. The ad will run on connected TV, digital and streaming platforms.
BACKGROUND
As Montana’s former U.S. Attorney under President Trump, he led efforts to combat violent crime, drug trafficking, and public corruption across the state. In the private sector, Alme’s work at Crowley Fleck provided firsthand experience with the real-world impact of regulation and federal policy on businesses and job creators.
As Gov. Martz’s Revenue Director, Kurt Alme helped implement the largest income tax cut in Montana’s modern history—reducing the top rate by roughly 37% and simplifying the system. At a time when rising federal spending is driving inflation and making it harder for Montana families to get ahead, that kind of leadership matters. Alme has a proven record of keeping taxes low, reining in spending, and advancing policies that put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Montanans.
