RALEIGH, NC – Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Action released a new ad, Fresh Ideas, which draws a contrast between Michael Whatley’s solutions as a political newcomer to address the current cost of living crisis and the progressive policies supported by career politician Roy Cooper.
The ad comes on the heels of a new memo from AFP Action senior advisor Emily Seidel and Executive Director Nathan Nascimento urging Republicans to focus on cost-of-living issues or risk losing the Senate. In the letter, they write that “…every campaign event should answer one question—what are you doing to lower the cost of living for working families?”
Thanks to AFP Action’s permanent on-the-ground infrastructure in North Carolina, the organization has been knocking voter doors for months to share with voters how Whatley plans to bring down prices on housing, groceries, energy, and childcare.

AFP Action senior advisor for North Carolina Tyler Voigt released the following statement:
“We are just six months out from ending Roy Cooper’s 40-year political career. Cooper has shown time and time again that his progressive agenda comes first. He vetoed tax cuts and opposed the One Big Beautiful Bill which brought tax relief to North Carolina families. North Carolinians need fresh leadership, which is exactly what Michael Whatley will bring as the state’s next senator.”
