Americans for Prosperity Action-Indiana Endorses Jennifer-Ruth Green for U.S. Congress

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Americans for Prosperity Action-Indiana (AFP Action-IN) today endorsed Jennifer-Ruth Green in her campaign to represent Indiana’s 1st U.S. Congressional District.

AFP Action-IN endorsed Green because she possesses critical military experience at home and abroad that informs her world view, her understanding of potential threats, and appropriate threat responses that protect our vital interests without committing our nation’s fighting men and women to unnecessary risk or endless wars. In addition, Green understands that uncontrolled deficits and debt make our nation less safe and secure.

“Green knows and understands the men and women who serve in the armed services and those who hung up their uniforms and continue to support our nation as civilians,” said AFP Action Senior Advisor Josh Webb. “In Congress, she will support thoughtful policies that respect their services, restrain military interventions, and expand health care options for veterans.

“Green understands that a growing national debt and out-of-control spending that feeds debt and inflation are threats to our future and security, and she will stand up for sound fiscal policies that respect our nation’s taxpayers,” Webb said. “People across Indiana are seeing their paychecks and savings eroded by inflation which causes pain at the gas pumps and grocery stores. They need representatives in Congress like Green who will have their backs and work for much needed economic relief.”

AFP Action-Florida Endorses Additional Candidates for State Legislature

New round of endorsements brings to 30 the number AFP Action-Florida legislative endorsements

June 29, 2022, Tallahassee – Americans for Prosperity Action-Florida today announced it was endorsing additional candidates running for the Florida state legislature:  Alexis Calatayud (SD-38), Robert Andrade (HD-02), Eugene Stokes (HD-16), and Vienna Francios (HD-45).

Today’s endorsements bring AFP Action Florida’s total state legislative endorsements to 30.

AFP Action Florida Senior Advisor Skylar Zander issued the following statement:

“What happens in the state legislature is critical to the lives of Floridians. That’s why AFP Action supports candidates who will support policies that provide children a quality education, create a strong state economy that helps businesses grow and create good-paying jobs, and increase access to high-quality health care.

“These and other endorsed candidates are critical to our state’s future, and we’ll be working hard to help them achieve victory in November.”

BACKGROUND

Alexis Calatayud (SD-38)

Alexis Calatayud will be an advocate in the State Senate for expanding educational opportunities for Florida children through universal education savings accounts and other programs that give parents greater control over their children’s education. Calatayud will work to expand health care access by reforming laws and regulations like those governing telehealth.

State Rep. Robert “Alex” Andrade (HD-02)

Rep. Robert Andrade has been a strong leader advancing educational freedom for Florida parents and children, including support for universal education savings accounts. He understands that reforming aspects of our criminal justice system can help formerly incarcerated individuals successfully return to their communities, ensure sentences are fair and fit the crime, and save taxpayers money.

Chet Stokes (HD-16)

Chet Stokes understand that government regulations, no matter how well intentioned, can create barriers—such as burdensome and unnecessary red tape—that prevent people, businesses, charities, and other organizations from succeeding. In the State House, he will work to break down these barriers to create an environment where people can succeed. Stokes will also work to create education opportunities for Florida families through the expansion of charter schools and education savings accounts.

Vienna Francois (HD-45)

Vienna Francois will be an advocate in the state legislature for expanded educational opportunities for Florida children. She understands that government policies impact our state’s labor market and the ability of Floridians to secure rewarding and good-paying jobs. That’s why she will support the reform of state occupational licensure regulations that essentially force people to get a government permission slip to hold certain jobs or open a business.

Americans for Prosperity Action-Florida Continues Rolling Out State Legislative Endorsements

Endorses Sen. Jim Boyd and Sen. Jennifer Bradley

Americans for Prosperity Action-Florida (AFP Action-FL) continues its support for Florida legislative candidates with endorsements of State Sen. Jim Boyd (SD-20) and State Sen. Jennifer Bradley (SD-06).

Sen. Boyd and Bradley earned AFP Action’s endorsements based on their support for responsible government regulations and reform efforts that break down regulatory barriers that deny opportunities and limit individual success.

“Sen. Boyd and Bradley understand that government regulations, no matter how well-intentioned, can erect roadblocks to businesses, workers, and families seeking opportunities and pursuing their dreams,” said AFP Action Senior Advisor Skylar Zander. “Re-elected to the State Senate, they will continue to seek reform opportunities to clear the roadblocks and allow people greater freedom to improve their lives and wellbeing.”

BACKGROUND

State Sen. Jim Boyd (SD-20)

Sen. Jim Boyd supports legislation that will get the government out of the way of parents by empowering them to choose education solutions that are best for their children, including charter schools. He also supported telehealth reform to make it easier for Floridians to see a doctor and receive care during a crisis such as COVID or for people who are less mobile and have difficulty leaving their homes for medical care. Sen. Boyd also voted for legislation to save the state pension program by phasing out the old system and allowing new state employees to receive 401(k)-style benefits. In 2020, the state pension system had $36 billion in unfunded liabilities.

State Sen. Jennifer Bradley (SD-06)

Sen. Jennifer Bradley championed legislation that allows restaurants and other food service businesses to sell and deliver alcoholic beverages. This legislation was important to businesses that were struggling to survive during the pandemic and recovery. Upon signing the legislation, Gov. DeSantis thanked Sen. Bradley for her leadership and for being “ready and willing to create common-sense reforms that got government out of the way and increased opportunity for Florida businesses.” Sen. Bradley is also the sponsor of legislation to simplify the regulatory process around mixed-use development and affordable housing.
